Jeep Wagoneer 1986 Description

1986 Jeep Grand Wagoneer

101,600 miles

Two owner 1986 Jeep Grand Wagoneer. Our Wagoneer has lived an extremely easy life, and has been meticulously maintained for use at our family’s summer house in Montana. Upon the sale of our summer house last year, we drove it to my father’s house in Chicago were he registered it and a few months later he transferred it to my name and we shipped it to my house in California to avoid it getting ruined in the Midwest winters. Our Wagoneer has a clean California Title on hand. It is strong, smooth, quiet and aesthetically excellent to be a Survivor Class show car and has been granted California Historical Plates.

The truck was purchased from the original owner in 1989. Since then it was used occasionally in Montana during the summers being driven approximately 3000 miles every year. The Wagoneer now has 101,000 original miles. The paint is in pristine condition. It is important to share that the hood, roof and rear latch were repainted 10 years ago due to the well known peeling issues in this cars. It was carefully matched in color and to the 1986 factory quality. There are some spots around the door handles that are showing some peeling, nothing major but its worth mentioning. (see pictures).

The wood paneling is original and has a nice warm glow to it, there are also some minor spots peeling and were also pictured for your review. The paint is pretty fantastic, it shines really well, it gets waxed every six months and shows remarkably. Finding these in good original paint is very unusual. The doors all open and shut like a vault with no sagging whatsoever. Latch window operates up and down properly, although the glass has a few scratches from the years of going up and down. All electrical windows work as well as the electrical seats.

Mechanical

It has been meticulously maintained as it left the factory. Within the last two years it has a new radiator, water pump, fan clutch, air pump, all hoses were replaced a year an a half ago as well as the belts.Tires are 8 months old with BFG 32x11.5 tires that perfectly fit the 3’ BDS Suspension paired with Bilstein shocks which make the Wagoneer be comfortable yet have a subtle lift.

The undercarriage speaks for the impeccable condition of our Jeep (see pictures) it is probably one of the most sanitary well-kept Wagoneers around. It has its original OEM Jeep optional trailer-towing package.

All the Emissions equipment is in place with new air pipes and air pump, and passed smog with flying colors.

Transmission and 4WD Select Trac work as they should, no issues, it is a very reliable truck.

Interior

All the factory floor mats with the Jeep Logo are in place protecting the Burgundy/red Shag Carpet. Aftermarket cassette radio plays your favorite radio station as well through a cassette adapter to connect your iPod. The sound is no modern sound system but it does a decent job

The luggage cover is still in place over the rear area. The dash is perfect and has no cracks.

The headliner and overhead lights are perfect. The leather is gorgeous, soft with NO cracks and wear but is in very good shape and overall the interior really is in excellent condition.

Issues, Not really. When its cold and if its not allowed to warm up for a few minutes it will stall. Once it gets to operating temperature it is fine. The rear driver’s lock does not go up electrically, but can be manually locked and unlocked. The fog lights don't work. It's a 30 year old truck, minor things but worth mentioning to avoid dissapointments.

What else?…there is no rust on this Jeep.
