Take a step back in time with this classic 1986 AMC Grand Wagoneer. Restored by renowned Wagonmaster Chip in 2009, this vehicle is among some of the finest examples remaining in the market today. With just over 93k original miles, this car is a true low mileage survivor.

The beige exterior is in good condition without any major damage. We do not find any indication of previous collision damage or any rust repair, which the very clean undercarriage supports. The upper chrome shows good luster, and the wood paneling makes this Grand Wagoneer look like it rolled off the showroom floor yesterday. In 2013 the roof was replaced due to damage at the roof rack mounting points, the quality of work was of very high grade. There was a sunroof in the original top, the wiring and all components are still in place but the owner could not find another factory top with one in it so a standard roof was used. The original wheels are in very acceptable condition with few marks, and the period correct white wall tires are modern day Hankook’s which measure as new.

Climbing into the cabin, it is clear that the car has been well cared for. The dashboard, upholstery, headliner, and carpet are in very good condition. All of the electronics work, as well as all the lights and gauges. An updated Alpine stereo was installed as part of the restoration done by the Wagonmaster. It includes a connection for an early generation Ipod, which is provided with the car.

Recent maintenance on the vehicle has been predominately completed at a Jeep dealership. Copies of the following repair orders are included with the vehicle:

80,653 .. Blower motor
83,169 .. Battery, Water Pump, Valve Cover Gaskets
83,264 .. Windshield
83,852 .. Radiator Hose
93,435 .. Spark Plugs, Carburetor Adjust, Vacuum repair, compression checked 150-155 across all cylinders
93,460 .. Front Brake Pads and Rotors, Repair Door Lock Springs, Trans Fluid and Filter, High Capacity Transmission sump.

When looking for collectible and enthusiast cars, the best finds are often cars without corrosion or collision damage. The structural integrity of the frame and body panels on this Grand Wagoneer are certainly among the top tier for condition across all full-size Jeeps of this era. While this Grand Wagoneer is very nice inside and out, please remember that being 30 years old, it is going to require ongoing maintenance and is likely to have seepage or small leaks. We are confident that there are few finer examples of this model available on the market today, and limited numbers in the future.
