GMC 1502 1960 Description
I bought this 1960 GMC 3/4 ton pickup with an 8' bed from the original owner around 1983. I used it as a work truck for about 15 years and then to make dump runs. It ran and drove when I parked it 3 years ago; now the engine turns over fine but there is no spark. It has 217,713 total miles on the original 305A V6 engine. Together with the original 4-speed granny gear, it is a fantastic hauler. Except for the larger wheels, nearly everything is original. The first owner had a camper permanently mounted which is why there is no rear bumper. He also had a couple of extra gas tanks installed in the bed which I removed but will include. I started trying to save the truck a number of years ago but we are moving out of the country now and I need to give it up. My plan was to keep the truck as original as possible. Got ahead of myself buying parts and most all of them are included. The frame is fine but there is still a lot of body rust as shown in the photos. The left bedside rail was damaged in the front and back so I welded on a couple of patch panels which didn't work out very well. The whole 8' bedside rail is now available from LMC. The very cool hood design is distinctive to 1960 and 1961 GMC trucks. Some of the many parts included with the truck are: Two NOS clear lenses for the hood; two NOS V6 badges for the fenders; 4 NORS oil shock absorbers; an NORS exhaust pipe; new custom muffler; two new GMC door sill plates; two new exterior handles; rubber for the doors, inner seals, tail gate chain, and windshield; some patch panels; bed bolt kit; rebuilt fender closing panels; a little wiring; oil and fuel filters; points, condenser, and distributor cap; a replacement water pump that the original owner had; original Maintenance Manual, Master Parts Book, Operator's Manual and Sales Brochure; plus more. VIN is 1502 CN 1695 BNon-refundable deposit of $500 required within 24 hours of close of auction.
