GMC Sierra 1500 1954 Description
This is my 1954 GMC Pickup truck. I bought this several years ago with the hope of restoring it, ut just don't have the time. I drive it locally in the summer time every now and then. The odometer reads just over 10k miles, ut I am selling this as unknown mileage because of the age.
The body and frame of the truck are in good condition. Use it like it is, r you have a solid, nadulterated truck to restore. The glass is in good condition. Ibelieve this to be anOld Navy Store display. That explains the color. It was originally a pea greencolor. It came from Arizona.
The engine and drive train are from a newer truck. I believe it to be a 250 6 cylinder with automatic transmission out of a 70's vintage truck. The transmission is a 3 speed automatic. The neutral safety switch is not hooked up. The engine starts and runs ok. It does not have a choke hooked up so you have to feather the gas pedal when cold. Once it warms up, t idles fine. The transmission works fine. It sits for extended periods of time and it does not have any bad leaks. It is a 12 volt system. It overheats if it sits and idles for over 25 minutes or so. It does not seem to have problems when you are driving and moving air past the radiator.
You can drive it the way it is, ut I recommend a tune up and some tlc. It has manual brakes (work well) and manual steering.
I recommend towing it home simply because it has been sitting for so long.
