GMC Other 1949 Description
This is a 1949 GMC Bubble-Nose COE. It is nice and straight and very solid other than lower rear cab corners which is typical of a 68 year old truck. It has been in Eastern Oregon in the high desert all of it's life. It still has the original '49 truck plates on it. It has the 248 inline 6 in it which supposedlyran great when parked 37 years ago according to the widow we got it from. The entire truck looks to be completely original right down to the flat-motor fan on the dash. The old guy that owned it died a few year back and his wife finally cut it loose. Our plans were to either re-body it over a 2005 4x4 Duramax 2500 frame and driveline we have, or to slam it and mid-mount the LS 6.0/4L80e setup in the pictures in it, but we just have to much going on and it would take up a lot of valuable real estate in the shop for too long. All the glass is good except the small rear window, which will be ordered and installed before shipping it to you. This way the cab will be completely sealed up for transport. The doors shut nice and both side windows roll up and down great. This is a very cool truck that would make a great project to drive, or worth a ton of money when completed to sell! The truck is obviously sold as-is with no guarantee/warranty. A $500 deposit is due within 24 hours of auction end with the remaining balance due within 7 days, or we keep the truck and relist it keeping your deposit.
The "VIN" number on the title would be the engine serial number back then. That was where the value was almost 70 years ago, not the body. This shows you how simple it was and how complicated the world has become. It does not match the GM placard on the door jam for the body serial number. If you want this to match, you would need to buy a blank ID placard for $18 and stampit accordingly. You can read more on the Stovebolt dot com website going to "Tech Tips" --> "Identifying your truck" --> "Deciphering your VIN". eBay won't let us post the link here!
Title and Bill of sale are signed and ready to send to new buyer upon final payment. They will be mailed after final payment is made Fed Ex 2-3 day deliverywith a signature required upon receiving.
Final payment may be made by wire transfer or certified bank check only, if transporting. If in person, cash only. Truck is located in Redmond, Oregon 97756.
The engine and transmission pictures in this ad are not part of this auction, but we would sell them separate to the buyer if he wanted them at auction end along with the truck. This would be a great setup in this as a hauler, etc...
We will help in any way we can with transport details, but you are responsible for getting it to you or coming to get it.
** The LS 6.0/4L80e in the pictures is not included in this auction! **
If you win the truck and want the engine/transmission at auction end, we will sell it complete and ready to go for $5K. It is a 2002 DBC 6.0/4L80e. It has a little over 135,000 miles on it. It is pretty much ready to drop in and run with new PSI Conversion harness, PCM has been reprogrammed to delete VATS, rear O2's, adjusted fueling for CAI and headers, etc. We can reprogram it with tire size, gearing, fans, etc once you know what you are gonna run free of charge for you. The transmission has been completely gone through by our tranny shop with a new rebuild kit and we also installed a brand new stock torque converter before mating them back up. This would be a sweet setup in this truck if not going diesel. We can work out the details of this transaction separate after the auction ends, but it could ship on a pallet on the flat bed.
Seller has the right to end the auction early due to also being sold locally.
