GMC Other 1954 Description
Up for sale is a 1954 GMC 100, 1/2 ton Long Bed pickup truck with an original 248 inline 6 engine. This is a running and driving truck that with a little more work could be a driver, or a great candidate for a full restoration, or ? This truck just came out of long term storage. It has not been on the road for over 20+ years. It has been stored inside all this time though. We just installed a new gas tank, fuel sending unit and a new fuel pump. The oil was changed along with a new filter. The coolant was changed out with new. Some new hoses were installed. Also the original carburetor was rebuilt as was the distributor. New brake master cylinder installed along with new wheel cylinders and new brake shoes. All four drums have been turned. New rear emergency brake cables have been installed. After all this work the truck started right up and seems to run real good, no strange noises and great oil pressure. There was some smoke out of the engine at first but that seems to be going away. This truck has several options which include; 5 window cab, Hydra-Matic 4 speed automatic transmission, chrome grille, chrome front bumper, and two tone paint (still has all original paint). The transmission seems to shift the way it should and there are no major leaks that I can see, in fact I have not noticed any leaks at all. Over all the body is in pretty good condition. The front grille has been lightly hit at one time, with some distortion of the grille and front fenders. There is some rust in the lower rear cab corners as well as on the drivers bed side. There are a few other very minor dings. Floors appear to be solid, only surface rust. The drivers side running board has a few rust holes in it. Someone started to sand this truck in spots that now have surface rust but nothing major there. Most of the glass is in good shape except the drivers door window and the passengers vent window. All of the gauges are in working condition, there is no radio, the wipers try to work but don't go up, the turn signals do not work. Headlights, taillights, and brake lights work. All of the bed wood wood is intake but warped, cracked and starting to root. The truck has greatpatina if you like that kind of thing, the only thing this would need to be a driver is new tires (they are hard and have flat spots), fix the wipers, fix some glass, and probably a few other odd and ends. I do have the original air cleaner and also a brand new correct original style complete wiring harness for this truck also. The pictures pretty much tell the story. Truck has a clear title (still the previous owners name but signed off). I will need a deposit of $500 dollars within 24 hours after the auction ends and full payment within 7 days. I would like the truck removed within a few weeks if possible. Please email with any questions, thanks for looking.
