Ford Model A 1929 Description
Here we have a Hot Rod black 1929 Chop-Top, illed ribbed roof, ruiser Bodies.com Model A Ford fiberglass body, ts titled an original 1929 Ford Sedan with a Texas title. The car is considered an antique and only has to be tagged every 5 year for $100.00 at your local tax office in the state of Texas. Full coverage insurance is $300 a year though "Hagerty.com".Inspection is not needed for this car in the state of Texas. All youbasicallyneed is head and tail lights at this point andthat'swhat it has. This car comes with arebuilt Small block Chevy motor with a high torque starter with a nice sounding high lift Ultradyne hydrauliccam that never lets you down.
The sedan has a Holley 780 carburetor with a Edelbrock intake and Lake Style open headers that turn outward, his keeps the noise down when driving the open roads. Its sounds great but it's not to loud when driving it in town. This car has a General Motors tilt steering column, ew Auto Meter gauges with a large twenty gallon gas tank under the rear for those long drives. Its designed with a super low Z'd 4 link coil over frame setup with 373 gears in the rear end.
The 1929 sedan also has a rebuilt turbo 350 transmission, B&M shift kit installed with a column shift. The sedan rides on a full set of vintage Weld Racing Drag Light wheels, ew 255/70 15 rear tires and 165/80 15 tires up front. The Hot Rod runs on re manufactured drum brakes, rom a straight axle econoline van. The straight axle front end has cut down to fit with new king pins installed for safety and runs straight down the road with no problems. The car also stays super cool on hot days in traffic with a multi core aluminum radiator and a mechanical fan installed to keep the vintage feel from the Model A Hot Rods we had before the electric fans came in the picture.
The floor tunnel was fabricated and installed with aluminum under fiberglass to add strength to the floor. The sedan also has new carpet installed for comfort with plywood under fiberglass, his makes the car super strong in the floor area and adds strength to the integrity of the car .This car also has new custom seat covers but I considered that little more was needed for interior in this build.
The car was designed with no door panels or door glass in thissedan build. This provides the driver witha pleasant experience only found in a true Hot Rod culture from the Model A era. The windshield is also an original design that slides out from the bottom for a comfortable air flow. On hot days the car stays cool without the need for air conditioning but when its colder a leather jacket is usually all that's needed to be comfortable on a long drive.
This 1929 sedan also has the new bear claw latches installed in the doors to provide the occupants a safer experiences, considering the older latches found in the Model A's were not considered very safe, yself I never felt good about taking my grandson in this car until I felt he was going to have a safe experience. He is only 3 now and loves to ride in the sedan on a regular basis.
