1939 Ford Deluxe, very original car throughout painted in 2001, with very nice original glass, all floors and trim. Interior is 80% original and very good achieving a Rouge Award at the 2009 EFV8 Central Meet. Woodgraining is original except for the two window frames on the doors. The running boards are originals that were beautifully remolded by Hunley Acuff. The deck lid lining is original and excellent as are the original trunk trim panels. The early serial number coincides with all early design change dates for the cars early grille, front fenders, hood, hood latch, dates etched in glass, as well as the number on the transmission which all speak to the originality of the car. The Engine is not original to the car. The engine is a '46 to '48 factory relieved block, bored .060", with Mercury Crank. This engine was professionally rebuilt and balanced. The heads and intake are Edlebrock using Ford 94 carburetors. It has a mild Isky cam and Fenton cast headers. The engine idles very smooth and quiet and does not overheat. The car will run effortlessly all day at 60 to 65 MPH, while delivering 19+ MPG. It is dependable and responsive. The car tracks straight and handles well, fitted with tube-type shock absorbers. The clutch and transmission operate perfectly without issues. I am a long time EFV8er who has given this car quality care and maintenance. It has been a reliable and enjoyable proven tour car. The time has come to let this car be enjoyed by someone else that truly appreciate seeing a very original '39 Ford, and loves to cruise down the highway effortlessly, quietly, and confidently.
