Ford Fairlane 1969 Description
You are bidding on a 1969 Fairlane 500 Wagon. It has a 302 V-8 2 bbl autolite carb with c-4 automatic transmission all original! it runs and drives great. It has a fairly solid body with mostly original paint. It did have some rust in the lower front fenders and over the wheel arch in the right rear, but we properly repaired those areas and blended some paint to match the patina.
We lowered the front just a bit by heating the stock spring to get it that just right stance. (I only have two torque thrust wheels and put them on for looks) car sells with the 4 stock steel wheels & caps). It has drum brakes all around and they work fine. But If you want it as a daily driver, maybe upgrading to front disc brakes etc. would be recommended? The chrome and bright work are in average condition with the right front fender trim missing.
The rear gate opens nicely both ways and the power rear window rolls up and down nicely as well, sometimes a little sticky going up (switch issue) I had the local upholstery shop insert the drivers seat area so it looks real nice! all the rest is original and in pretty good condition, I never had the headrest for it & the rear interior trim panels are a bit rough, so we made some & repaired them with panel board and they look ok, maybe recover them in? to be better. All the windows crank up & down very smooth, could use some new felt, carpet, headliner has some mouse holes, frt door panels a bit rough, dash pad is super nice! am radio, feel free to call if you have any questions, Again the car sells with the 4 stock wheels, tires and hubcaps as seen on the right front. The tires are kinda old and checked, so new ones would be recommended if you want to drive it a long distance home. If you want the two torque thrust wheels and tires add $250.00. if you want the Go Kart for the novelty look add $50.00 and if you'd like an aged looking sign painted on it (as I was going to do) I can have that done next door at the sign painters place. if you want the eng bay all cleanup & painted to be nice we can do that as well, ( as I got started with the air cleaner) this will be a great car to restore and make super cool! or just drive and enjoy as is as is! Oh and if you want a roof rack I have one that can be installed. Please call if you have any questions or would like to see the car (402)474-2344.
On May-27-16 at 21:17:41 PDT, seller added the following information:a question was asked about the floor pans I forgot to mention that they are in great shape! very solid ! the bottom side of this car was undercoated & is very solid it came from western Nebraska where it is a pretty dry climate, there are two small rust holes in the frt seat floor brace though typical of these Torinos & Fairlanes I took pics and will try to post tomorrow
On May-31-16 at 19:52:15 PDT, seller added the following information:I added a few more pics, showing the spare tire well it is very solid in that area ! the cargo hold area is ok but has surface rust in the lower area as seen in picture a few rust through areas on the side, but they are very easy fix when you start in on restoring it or? a few other goofy Idea pics of a Go Kart therm wagon with Lettering just done in chalk to give an idea ?? it washes right off. It looks as though the wagon hit the reserve and will sale! but I'm sure going to miss it such a fun wagon to cruise around in hope it goes to a good home!
