Ford Fairmont 1978 Description
1978 Ford Fairmont FuturaV8 Coupe Survivor
- Remarkably nice condition for its age
- These are getting very hard to find
- Most of the paint is original
- The driver's side quarter panel appears to have been damaged at some point during the car's life and was repaired and repainted; looks like a pretty good job to me; you will notice that some of the chrome trim is missing from the quarter panel
- The odometer shows ~31,945; I do not know if it is 131,945 but it seems likely that it is
- The car is from dry and dusty Utah and it looks remarkably free from corrosion for a car this age
- The carpet is stained and faded
- At some point it looks like the seats were re-upholstered; they look pretty nice and match pretty well
- The car seems to run, drive, and shift pretty well; I've only taken short drives in it
- I bought this car to do a Coyote swap but I've decided that I have too many projects so I'm going to sell this one
- It is a great Coyote, LS, LSX, Hot Rod candidate; I wish I had the time and money to do it!
- I have had it a couple years and it has been sitting in my storage building
- I've kept the battery charged; when it sits for a long time it is hard to start; I think the gas is evaporating out of the fuel bowl and it takes a while for the fuel pump to fill it; once the fuel bowl is full the car starts and seems to run smoothly
- The car has AC but I do not know if it works; it looks like everything is there
- The trunk appears to be extremely solid
- I listed the color as yellow; it is somewhere between yellow and beige; it looks pretty close to butternut yellow to my eye
- The car is for sale locally so the auction could end early
