Ford Other 1951 Description
It is as follows. . . . ..
1951 Ford Fordor Custom
Fordomatic Three Speed. A Ford AOD transmission will adapt perfectly in you so desire in the future.
Beautiful Blue paint with a few damaged areas (5%) Painted on 2003 (see pictures)
Most major chrome (bumpers, tc.) in great shape. Others parts have surface rust and need re-chroming, ut all there.
8BA Flathead 100 hp w/ 12v Alternator. The final and updated Flathead made.
New Aluminum Radiator w/ Elec Fan.
Two new high flow water pumps.
New Mallory Electronic Ignition
New Flame Thrower Coil, lugs, ires.
New Battery.
Rebuilt EBA Carb.
Oil Pan removed and (engine sludge) cleaned.
New Exhaust
New 17 gal.gas tank. The new sending unit isn't working. Speedway will send a new one, ut I didn't want to drop the tank again at this time.
Beautiful new Interior and Dash just finished in October. Dome lights actually work.
Excellent glass all around. Might want to replace gaskets around vent windows in the future. It has vents in the rear windows also. New gaskets for rear window, nd I believe the front also.
Heater/Defrost/Wipers/Turn Signals works.
Radio isn't hooked up as far as I can tell. So I don't know if it works. Same with clock. This needs to be checked out, ut hasn't been a priority. I'm not sure if the 12v / 6v. adapters were installed when the new 12v. Alternator was installed by the original owner.
Excellent rubber with original hub caps. Plenty of tread but have probably been on the car for a while. Not sure.
Solid Straight nearly rust free body.
Those who have worked on this car say's that it is structurally as sound as anything they've seen for a car this age. And, hat the 44k miles on speedo is more than likely correct.
Previous owner (s) installed new fuel pump, aster cyl. rebuilt: transmission serviced, nd overhauled engine; Main Bearings and Rings, od Bearings, ne valve replaced.
My mechanic took and wheels off and it looked like the wheel cylinders have been replaced.
With new Electronic ignition, iming and dwell set. . . . this car runs beautifully. It's got just a bit of hesitation when stepping on the gas, ut as smooth as it runs, didn't want to mess with adjusting the carb. any more.
No Flim Flam or surprises here. A good solid, ood running classic Ford with Automatic transmission. I'm trying to be as up front with the description as I can.
Not a trophy winning show car ready for the Bartlett Auctions, ut a really nice looking and nice running classic for an extremely fair price.
