Ford Mustang 1966 Description
1966 Ford Mustang Convertible Rotisserie Restored Restomod Fresh almost 3 year build with documentation. Completely restored including new Dynacorn sheetmetal. Underside reinforced with Tinman Fab subframe connectors, center floor brace/driveshaft loop, and custom semi-hidden front cage structure providing an incredibly stiff structure. Rear wheel wells mini tubbed with Goodmark 2" wider inner wheel houses. Rear rails narrowed and reinforced for extra wide rear tire clearance and convertible inner structure has been modified keeping stock appearance. While on rotisserie underside was refinished to 1966 Mustang specs; red oxide floor, satin black engine compartment. Exterior received extensive fitting of panels to achieve excellent gaps and fit. 1967 Shelby style fiberglass hood, GT 350R valance, Shelby side scoops, and GT rear valance were added. Car was block sanded multiple times before a modified original code "X" vintage burgundy paint was applied. Finished paint has been wet block sanded flat prior to buffing and polishing to a mirror shine. BASF Glasurit products were used throughout including high solids clear. All exterior trim, lights, handles, and bumpers have been replaced with better quality or "concours" parts when available. Side mirrors have LED turn signal indicators. All glass has been replaced; windshield is a Ford Carlite green tint/ blue shade, tinted vent assemblies, tinted door glass, and tinted quarter glass assemblies. All new. Front suspension is a Speedway Motors Mustang II IFS with 5/8" narrowed tubular control arms, dropped spindles, and adjustable coilovers. Wilwood 12" brakes with drilled & slotted rotors were added along with Heidts sway bar and power steering. Wilwood aluminum tandem master cylinder with adjustable proportioning valve and Speedway power brake booster have been frenched into the firewall for engine clearance. Rear suspension features a Control Freak triangulated four link with dual adjustable coilover shocks and adjustable sway bar. A new Currie 9" with performance axle package, 3.50 gear ratio, and an Eaton True Trac (gear type) posi differential were installed. Wilwood rear disc brakes with drilled & slotted rotors and parking brake were also added. American Racing VN215 "old school" grey center wheels are 18x8 front 18x10 rear wrapped with Bridgestone Potenza RE760 Sport tires 235/40/18 and 295/35/18. That's an 11.7" wide tire on a 18x10 rim on the rear of an early Mustang. 5.0 32v Coyote V8 painted 1966 Ford engine blue and installed on Tinman Fab urethane mounts. Ford Racing Performance Control Pack wiring and computer with additional tuning by legendary Tasca Ford's Mod Shop.Custom cold air intake with K&N filter and factory engine appearance covers. Exhaust features Doug's ceramic coated long tube headers, Thrush welded mufflers, 2 1/2" X pipe and modified Flowmaster tailpipes with polished stainless tips. Transmission is a 4R70W four speed overdrive automatic shifted through a new original shifter with custom linkage and cooled with a Flexalite cooler fitted to the GT 350R front valance. It is controlled by a MSD Atomic Transmission Controller and is programmable with a hand held unit. The wiring has been completely replaced with an American Autowire Classic Update Series harness and Optima red top battery has been relocated to the trunk. A new full Deluxe Pony interior kit has been installed with TMI Sport II seats featuring improved bolsters. The dash pad is a new OE tooling unit and a Drake instrument bezel and complete glovebox have been installed. A custom set of Speed Hut gauges including GPS 140 mph speedometer, 8k tachometer, oil pressure, water temperature, volt meter and fuel gauge have updated the dash. ACC carpet, matching Mustang logo carpeted floor mats, Drake Pony emblem seat belts. A Nu-Relics power window kit compliments the factory power convertible top now covered in modern Stayfast canvas by Kee. Custom Autosound USA630 radio, Rockford Fosgate Punch series speakers, and Vintage Air air conditioning unit complete the interior. This car runs, drives, sits, looks, and sounds incredible. The paint, fit, finish, and attention to detail are second to none. It is truly enjoyable to drive and draws a crowd wherever it is. I have extensive documentation, two folders of receipts, and hundreds of photos during build. All shipping costs are buyers responsibility.
