Ford Thunderbird 1960 Description
1960 Ford Thunderbird hardtop. This car is great for a cool cruiser around town as-is or ready for an easy restoration. All exterior chrome trim and bumpers appear original and are in great condition. This car spent most of it's life in southern California and is currently registered in Arizona. It has a small spot of rust under the passenger seat floor and some surface rust that was under the trunk carpet but is extremely solid for a vehicle of this age. This Thunderbird has a390 C.I. FE engine and C6 transmission (I believe these were swapped from a 1966 model Thunderbird). The car runs well with freshly rebuilt carburetor, new fuel pump, vacuum advance, and belts. Interior is in very good condition and all gauges are working. Car also rides on brand new Coker Classic white-wall tires (less than 100 miles).Drawbacks:Although this car was well taken care of, there are a few items that need to be addressed if this car is going to be perfect.
- The driver side window is cracked all the way down. I have purchased a brand new window which is included with purchase of the vehicle.
- The windshield has a crack on the passenger side. I have not fixed this because it is not noticeable while driving.
- The power window switch is missing. I have wired up a single switch temporarily so I am able to roll the driver window down while driving.
- The paint was re-done some time ago and is starting to show it's age. There are some cracks and chips, most notably, the paint on top of the hood scoop.
- This car has a few slow drips from the power steering and rear differential. I don't think these are anything major but I wanted to mention everything I could think of.
