For all those looking for a great little ride, look no further than this Excellent, One Owner, Low Miles, 1986 Ford Mustang 5.0 LX that is the latest from Sonoran Classic Restorations in Scottsdale.
Now before we go into further detail, it’s worth having a look at Hagerty’s March 2017 write-up on these little gems:

1979 – 93 Ford Mustang
The importance of this car cannot be overstated. It’s a design that has aged well, and no other car offers up a greater bang-for-buck factor than a 5.0-liter Fox body. Plenty of them have been used and abused, but with so many produced, you can afford to bide your time and be choosy. You’ll still come away with a quick little modern classic. So as you can see, you can’t go wrong with one of these fun classics from the ‘80’s. And whether you are looking for a strong entry in your next car show or just want an exceptional ride for cruising around town, this is the one!

As far as the history, this was a one owner car until this past February. The original owner gave the car to his grandson, who immediately decided that he did not need the car, thus we purchased it from him.
With that, you’ll note that many items on this vehicle are still original and in our typical fashion, it has been gone through meticulously. This car is in EXCEPTIONAL condition and drives INCREDIBLY NICE. Following are all the details:

Body:
Bodywork and paint was just professionally completed by seasoned Professional Auto Body Painter (27 years in the business). Paint was in decent shape, but had multiple dings and scratches on the sides and bumpers. All dings and scratches were repaired and painted. Car was then painted with 3 coats of clear, colored sanded and buffed. Cleaned and repainted all black trim. The bodywork is arrow straight and the Mustang looks great!

·100% dry and rust free body

·New windshield (remaining glass in good condition)

·Some new weatherstripping and seals

Wheels and Tires:

·Wheels reconditioned

·Tires in great condition

Engine:

·302ci, 5.0 liter

·5 speed transmission

·New clutch kit

·New transmission fluid

·All fluids and oils are fresh with new front and rear main seals

·New power steering pump with new high pressure hose and return hoses

·New thermostat

·New fuel filter

·New plugs

·New battery

Heating/Air:

·Air blows cold and has been updated to 134A Freon

·Heat works fine

Brake System:

·New pads

·Rear shoes are in great shape

·New brake hoses

·Newer master cylinder

Suspension:

·Steers and drives nice

·Interior was cleaned and dyed - looks nearly new and smells fresh

·New carpet

·New rear window regulators

·All interior dash lights work

·All gauges work properly, including the clock

Disclosures:

Now as beautiful as this Mustang has turned out, it is a 1986. There is a small oil leak from the oil pan gasket after driving. It is also a convertible, and as most, has small leaks around the seals when being washed, but never driven in the rain, so not sure if it will leak or not. There are two seams slightly splitting on the left rear seat, as well as stress cracking at the bottom left rear seat (noted in final photo). There are also small tears in the left and right interior quarter panels (also noted in final photo). Lastly, the passenger side seat-belt has some slacking. Otherwise, it looks incredible, runs great and is exceptionally fun to drive.
