Ford Mustang 1968 Description
A considerable amount of money and work has been put into this car with parts as small as the ignition switch bezel to as large as the engine being new or less than 10 years old. Factory 289 was replaced about 8 years ago with a rebuilt 302 from a 1978 F-150, bored 3 over. Engine Specs: Speed Pro Hyperuetectic pistons with rings, Comp Cams Extreme Energy Hydraulic Flat Tappet, Miller Gold Roller Rockers, Comp Cams High Energy Pushrods, ARP High Volume Oil Pump, Windsor Jr Heads, Summit Racing Ceramic Shorty Headers, Milodon Stock Replacement Oil Pan,Material: Hypereutectic Aluminum Bore: 4.030",Style: Flat Top with 4 valve reliefs, Compression Distance:1.605", Piston Head Volume: +8.00cc,Wrist Pin Style: Press Fit Pin, Diameter: 0.0912", Gapless: No, File Fit: No, Top Ring Thickness: 5/64", Top Ring Material: Iron, Top Ring Facing Material: Moly, Second Ring Thickness:5/64", Second Ring Material: Iron, Second Ring Facing Material: Cast Iron, Oil Ring Thickness: 3/16", Oil Ring Material: Stainless Steel,RPM Range: 1300 - 5600, Duration @ .050": Int - .218" Exh - .224",Lift: Int - .493" Exh - .500",Lobe Separation Angle: 110.Rebuilt C6 transmission, Scott Drake aluminum radiator, dual row with 1" tubes, radiator overflow tank, electric fan, 3.55 gear rear axle, new steering column with tilt, all new wiring - American Autowire complete wiring harness, halogen headlights, GT-style fog lamps (conversion kit), LED sequential taillights, new window regulators, new quarter window regulators, brushed aluminum instrument panel. Replaced the following items 6 years ago: turn signal lever, door and ignition lock set, ignition switch and bezel, headlight knob and shaft, headlight switch and bezel, door latch and lock rods, parking light assembly, dimmer switch, battery tray, batter hold-down clamp, washer hose kit, back up light lens, fixed turn signal switch, rag joint, brake cylinder, trunk seal, window channel strips, tail light housing, heater cable set, humphugger console-coupe, door panels, air vent assembly, plastic glove box liner, instrument panel voltage regulator, rearview mirror, ash tray receptacle, and numerous other parts.
This is a custom Mustang, not concourse correct. For example, it has a 302 instead of the 289 that it came out of the factory with, I added GT-style fog lamps, LED sequential tail lights, halogen headlights, etc. But that's what makes this Mustang unique are its custom features. It does have a fair amount of wear and tear being a daily driver for a number of years and as it has been parked outside for 2 of the 6 years that I've owned it. It's a fun car to drive and I get compliments everywhere I go. This is a great project car and one that you can drive on weekends or holidays, or like I did for 5 years, use it as a daily driver.
