Ford Fairlane 1959 Description
Up for sale I have a 1959 Ford Fairlane 500 Tudor (Galaxie Series) 2-door in rough condition. The engine is an 8 cylinder with a 2bbl. carb. I have been told that the engine is probably not original. The guy said it is probably a 350 or a 390 from the mid-1960's. The tranny is a 3-speed cruise-o-matic, apparently. 125,000 miles (?) The odometer reads 25,000.
Good for a parts car or restore it with a lot of work. California title in my name. $800 or make a standing offer. Must be paid for and picked up quickly.
This car has been sitting outside for over 20 years. It is in rough condition. It is rusty. THERE IS NO GAS TANK. The engine last ran in the early 1990's, by running a fuel line to a gas can. It ran well and it was very loud. The driver door window is cracked. The panelis off of the driver door. It is sitting in the back. I also have the horn bar for the steering wheel. I also have the original radio, and the face plate. These pieces are not in the pics.
I have no key for this car. Sorry, it is lost forever. I turned the radiatorfan by hand and it moved pretty easily. All the pulleys moved as well.I can hear some clickingsounds from the engine block when I do this. So, I think this indicates that the engine turns. The alternator also turned. Inthe pics of the engine you can see that the engine was covered with shredded pine cones. I got most of it out in order to take the pics. The chipmunks will just have to find a new home. The floor of the trunk looks very solid from underneath (see pic.). There are some rust holes above the emblems on the sides, behind the door windows. I tore up the rug in front in order to look at the floorboards . Unfortunately, it is rusted through in some spots in the corners, where the floor meets the firewall (see pics). The main part of the floor seems pretty solid. The tires are shot. The rims are probably shot.
