Ford Other 1967 Description
This Is An Accurate Recreation Of A 1967 Ford Shelby AC Cobra. "This Is Not A Kit Car". The Parts That Went Into This Car Are From OEM Shelby Parts. The Body Is An Original Kevlar-Carbon Fiber Body Offered In 1966-67. This Was An Option In Place Of The Aluminum Body And Stronger. The FE 427 Center Oiler Which Replaced The 289 Was Used To Give The Cobra More Top End And Compete At Daytona. After One Year Of Racing Shelby Found That At Continuous High RPM The Main Bearings And Pistons Were Wearing More Than They Liked Thus Came The Noted 427 Side Oiler. This Design Brought The Oil To The Main Bearings And Pistons First Thus Increasing Longevity During A Race. The Original Cobra Only Had Two Small Fans In Front Of The Radiator For Additional Cooling For Pit Stops Or When Driving Slow. This Car Has The Original OEM Fans Up Front. You Can Also See In The Lower Snout In Front Of The Car The Oil Cooler. The Engine Oil Is Circulated Through This Cooler To Help Keep The Oil Cool. From The Dealer You Had A Choice Of Chrome Bumper- Pads Or The Lift Arms For Changing Tires During A Race. The Lift Arms Weren't Legal In Some States. This Car Has The Chrome Bumper -Pads.
