Ford Other 1907 Description

What you are seeing are the majority of parts necessary to build a 1906 to 1909 Ford Model n, r or s. I was told that there were enough parts to build 2 model S cars but I would anticipate most parts necessary to build one car with a significant amount of parts left over to sell or trade. These cars appear to sell for $35,000 in non-running condition and $42,500+ in running condition so this might be one of those rare projects that depending on your talent, you might actually not be upside down after all your labor. There is an active club for these cars with nice folks who appear to be ready to advise on problems and questions. If I do not sell the parts, I will build the car myself.
Most of the parts listed below were in boxes labeled "Model n,r,s parts" and look like the drawings in my parts book but I cannot swear that all are correct.
I have made an inventory of all of the parts and the photos are attached. I believe most major parts are there as follows;2 engine blocks Both are casting N 402 with serial number 387 which appears good and 1998 which appears to have thrown a rod at one timeThere are 4, 2 cylinders each cylinder sets which appear completeThere are two cranks and two cams8 connecting rods and pistons, many rings, 2 intake manifolds and one exhaust manifold.5 crank case side covers and 2 front covers.2 fan/flywheels but one is cracked.I suspect that one good engine could be built with lots of extra parts.
There are two transmission housings although one is bad. There are many transmission parts including one gear case that appears to still have the gears in it. There are many transmission bands included. Of course, the soft parts will need to be replaced. Again, I suspect that you could build one good transmission from the parts.
Although new radiators are available for these cars, there may be enough parts between the two radiators to build one good one complete with the integral water pump. Once core seems very nice with straight fins and the other is complete with the pump. There are some extra pump parts along with tank parts.
There are two complete frames, both of which seem usable. There are a bunch of springs, again enough to probably build one car from and have some left over.
I have two complete front axle assemblies which appear to be complete.
There are two complete differential assemblies, again which appear complete.
1 complete and assembled steering column assembly and the parts for a second. Two steering wheels.
1 complete McCord Oiler in assembled and apparently good condition and some of the parts for a second oiler although the case on the second is damaged.
1 assembled coil box with coils and one separate wooden box. The name on the box does not match the name in the parts book that I have but they are certainly old and for a 4 cylinder.
There are two carburetor although the are not identical and I can't make out the manufacturer. The more complete on looks very much like the photos I have seen of the original carb.
There is no body which were largely made of wood and can be duplicated. I have some dimensioned drawings for a body which came with the car. The metal parts include the hood, which I have two, both of which are usable and one is almost perfect. There are several side covers for the hoods along with the brackets for them. There are two of the metal hood supports that go on the dash to support the closed hood. I have many brackets to support the body, some of which say for example "dash support n,r,s" but I do not know if I have all.
I have one of each of the fenders although they are rusted and good only for patterns. I believe that new fenders are available.
The transmission cases were open on these cars and they apparently dripped oil (as you would suspect) and I have one drip pan that might be usable but is certainly a good pattern.
There are hundreds of fasteners and other small parts that I have not identified exactly what they are. If you are knowledgeable about these cars and want to see if the part is there, please send me a photo of one and I will try to identify it.
Parts not there for sure besides aforementioned
Gas tank - there are many tanks available on line for early cars and I suspect that one could be found
Exhaust besides one exhaust manifold.
Wheels and tires - These are available and not too expensive.
Commutator - I do not know if these are available
I cannot guarantee that all of the parts are there, in fact I know that some aren't. But the big unique parts to these early cars appear to be there. Remember that they started building the T in late 1908 so I suspect that many T parts are identical, except the engine, trans and frame.

I paid $5000 for all of the parts and have had many media blasted and primed. My reserve is $5000. You are welcome to come look at this stuff in Sacramento before the auction ends. These parts are in a house that is now sold with possession to take place on September 15th. If not sold in this auction, all parts will be warehoused. I will not sell any parts before this auction ends and if not sold, before I finish each section of my build. No title; sold on bill of sale only.
