Ford Mustang 1985 Description
This nice Mustang with the huge and powerful 5.0L V8 engine and dual exhaust has a new battery, new rear tires, new rear and master brake cylinders with rebuilt front calipers and all new brake hoses front and rear. The brake system has been pressure flushed and bled using synthetic DOT 5 fluid and it also has new wiper blades for safe driving. The engine's serpentine belt was also just replaced and a new transmission shifter boot, a new set of plastic knobs for the heater and A/C controls and an NOS ash tray in the original Ford box are included but not installed. Needs the front tires in order to be safe for long distance highway driving as those on it are weathered but otherwise can probably be driven home with a valid moving permit from your state.Has been in my family since new when my sister purchased it here in San Jose, CA and it is currently in the High Desert of Terrebonne, OR (about 30 miles north of Bend) where it has been for the last couple decades and not driven much for several years. There is a clear title here in San Jose that will have to be mailed after the purchase and to pick it up will require advance notice since I am not at the location. The battery would need to be installed as it is kept out on the workbench and attached to a roof-mounted solar panel's charge controller to maintain the charge.
It has a number of factory and dealer options including a moon roof and lower rocker trim that were on it when it was purchased new. A couple of the rocker pieces are off and in the trunk and at least one more appears to be coming loose so all should be reattached. There is no damage to the body other than a little weathering and normal parking lot dings but the window trim and plastic around the sides and headlights have the yellow plastic showing through. One of the taillights has a break but a spare pair in good condition is included. The original spare has never been used other than overnight in storage recently while the rear tires were off being replaced. I have all the original receipts since new until it was parked.
As a matter of disclosure, I have driven it only a couple times myself and only for short distances and it seemed to drive really well. I am quite impressed by the power, smoothness and even the throaty sound of the 5.0L V8! It is NOT currently registered or insured but it does have a clear and valid California Non-Op title. Buyer will be responsible for any smogging and registration required by their locale. Should it not sell during this listing, it will not be relisted any time soon until I've brought it here to California and have had it detailed, which will then be priced accordingly. Due to the rural location and overall dustiness of the car, I've kept the reserve price lower than these cars in this condition usually fetch.
There is a reasonable reserve and the deposit is not refundable. Remember, your winning bid is a legally binding contract so please keep that in mind by asking any questions you may have in advance of the auction's end. In fact, since I may have to have somewhere there go look at the car to answer specifics, ask questions well before the ending of the auction!
