1956 Ford F100 Long Bed Truck

Ford F-100 1956 Description

This truck was assembled in the Ford Long Beach CA plant and spent most of its life in California until about 10 years ago when it came to PA. Therefore there is no rust on the floorboards or frame. The body has some normal rust as can be seen in the photos.
Long Bed F100s are very rare. Ford had to compete with the 1956 Chevy long bed so they basically resprung the F250 and called it an F100. The frame is heavy duty like the F250s.
I have recently had all mechanicals gone over on the truck. The truck has a 1958 312 Y Block V8 believed to be from a Mercury. Other than that it is original.The transmission is the original FordOMatic 3 speed. It was recently rebuilt.
The truck drives and handles like new.
It is ready to be driven and enjoyed as is with its current cosmetic patina or you could get carried away and do a frame off body restoration. Either way, it is unmolested. Most others of this age have been dramatically altered.
