Ford Mustang 1969 Description
In 1968 & 1969 Ford introduced an optional color array that could be special ordered known as the 'Rainbow of Colors' promotion. This 1969 Mach 1 was ordered under this promotion with a color named MadagascarOrange. I have only seen 1 other 69 Mach 1 this color in the many hoursof research,below I have provided a YouTube link to that vehicle.
Although born at the Dearborn assembly plant, his Mach 1 made it's way to sunny California very early in life by the original purchaser. As a result, here is very little rust, ll original body panels, xcellent floors, amp; it is still wearing it's original CA blue/yellow license plates. I bought this car from thefamily of the original owner who had recently passed away, o technically this is a 2 owner car. The original owner special ordered the car in Illinois & I still have the original window sticker(not a reprint), riginal check sheet that he used to determine options he wanted, riginal buck tag, oor tag, amp; I am relatively certain the original build sheet is still under the carpet. The interior is 100% original& is in relatively good condition for being nearly 50 years old, he dash is not yet cracked but is not soft to the touch any longer. The car is also still wearing a majority (roughly 60%) of it's original paint & has never been painted in the door jambs. The original paint markings & stickers are still present & the inside floor pan is excellent original paint (see pic).
This car was driven regularly throughout it's life, arked in parking lots, amp; has it's share of minor bumps & bruises but has never had a serious accident & has never had any body panels replaced. When I got the car it had already been spot painted on the tail lamp panel & left quarter panel, amp; I had the hood correctly repainted with the blackout treatment. Further to that, had the brakes system overhauled, new gas tank & fuel pump, nstalled a brand new set of BF Goodrich 60 series radials, nstalled a brand new dual exhaust system, amp; restored the very rare 351 Windsor shaker assembly. The car runs & drives well, ngine / trans / & brakes perform properly, teering could be tighter but still safe on the road. Overall not badfor having 118k original miles. Below is a list of some of the factory features;
-Genuine Mach 1 (code 63C), pecial order paint, actory shaker hood car with all original components, ower steering, ower disk brakes, old down rear seat, eluxe Mach 1 interior, utomatic transmission, " open ratio rear end, enter console.
All in all this is and will continue to be a highly collectable Mach 1 due to the rare color & shaker hood. If restored properly this vehicle will achieve a much higher value than an ordinary small block Mach 1.
Here is a link to the other Madagascar orang Mach 1 I found on the internet. Please note that this IS NOT ME OR MY CAR in the video, just wanted to show another example of this rare color. Please view video at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m8K5VZjjZyA
