The sports bucket Galaxie 500 XL returned form 1962 as a heavily restyled model, ord referred to them as Super Torque Fords.
Ford even added the Galaxie "Scatback" semi fastback hardtop coupe mid year for more speed in stock car racing.
Making this aero dynamic improvement changed the formal hardtop roofline from an ugly duckling into a beautiful swan.
The 63 XL 500 z Codes are one of the fastest appreciating collector cars on the market...with the R Codes and Q Codes absolutely sky rocketing the heavily optioned Z Codes like this beautiful example is not far behind and a great investment and feature for any car collection.
This Southern California, atching numbers 390 330HP Z code Ford has only 77,888 actual miles.
It has been in an Arizona collection since 2010.
Amazingly it has only logged 800 miles since its over $70,000 resto was completed in late 2010!
This beautiful Red on Red Galaxie is also highly optioned, ncluding power steering, ruise O Matic transmission, ower antenna, ower disc brakes. 11 inch disc brake kit conversion with new AC unit with Sanden compressor..blows ice cold!
During the restoration, n alternator conversion replaced the generator, nd the suspension was completely refreshed.
The engine, ransmission and rear end were renewed. the engine bay was completely restored with a new engine wiring harness added.
The new dash harness and forward lamp harness was also installed, ll the important little details were completed as well.
All new restored interior, ew instruments, enses and bezels, ven the steering was all redone to factory specs.
Get this, ven the clock was converted to quartz movement!!!
In fact the restoration was so comprehensive that when they converted from 14 inch wheels to 15 inch units, hey modified the new Ford 15 inch steel wheels to accept the correct 14 inch full spinner hubcaps.
Hands down the most impressive Galaxie XL we have seen.
Rides beautifully, ngine detail is impressive, olid body, hassis and frame are beautiful..list goes on and on
