Ford Galaxie 1966 Description

The vehicle model is the Galaxie 500 4-door sedan with bench seat. It was Ford number 64206 built at the Louisville, entucky assembly plant during the model year. The engine is a 352-4V Thunderbird V-8 (250 hp@4400 rpm, 52 ft-lbs@2800 rpm, .3:1 compression ratio), acked by the FX Cruise-O-Matic 3-speed automatic transmission with column shift, nd driving through a 3.00:1 non-locking differential. It was finished with the Emberglo exterior color, nd the interior trim was Parchment Crinkle vinyl and parchment Olympia pattern cloth. It had a scheduled build date March 23, 966.
The car retains its assigned California black plates issued when it was first registered in California in the '60's..
This sedan has the following factory options:
Cruise-O-Matic Automatic Transmission (shifts smoothly through all 3 gears)
Power Steering (works correctly with minimal play)
Select-Aire Air Conditioning (condenser and receiver not installed but included -- A/C pump missing but all mounts, ulleys and brackets mounted on engine)
AM radio (Works Great)
Courtesy Light Group (consists of under dash and ash tray light, ome light works great)
Tinted Windows (all) (intact with no pits or cracks)
Deluxe Seatbelts (retracting front belts)
Wheel Covers (15")
This sedan has the following dealer options:
Day/Night Rear View Mirror
Door Locks (rear) Lifeguard Junior (keeps the kids from opening doors from inside)
Window Shades (on doors)
Door Edge Guards
Turn Indicator Lights (mounted on front fenders)
The car is straight, lean, ever wrecked and no bondo although rust bubbles are starting at the bottom of the door edges, o rust at quarter panels or wheel wells. Solid, ust-free frame, loor and trunk pans. Transmission shifts correctly. The car drives well on all roads and has no problems at highway speed. Good headliner. All P215/75-R15 tires have good tread. Chrome bumpers have no damage or rust and have high luster shine.
Needs the following:
Original cloth/vinyl interior front and rear seat bottoms need reupholstered. Engine fires up and runs very well but does smoke after very prolonged idle times and has some slight lifter noise. The heater core has been bypassed due to a leak. It will either need to be repaired or replaced (the leak did not cause any damage to the interior carpet which is in very good condition).
Since purchasing the carthe fuel delivery system has had the following work completed: new gas tank sending unit, ubber fuel lines and fuel pump. The engine also has new freeze plugs and motor mounts. Just recently a newmaster cylinder and battery were installed, nd the wheel cylinders were re-done.
This sedan is pictured on page 75 in the 2004 book "Fords of the Sixties" albeit mis-identified as a 1965 model.
