I bought this coupe from the widow of a gentlman who purchased it from a farm auction in 2006. (included in the sale is his bid number and sale receipt of $7600) Sadly he passed away within a month of purchasing it. The car was in need of a total restoration ( the engine was stuck. the interior was mouse eaten. the glass was broke. and the tires dryrotted). It was parked in his barn until I was able to purchase it in 2011. I trailered it To my home here in Iowa at which time I had my Model A mechanic and restorer look at the car. Based on his advice. I left the car 100 perent original cosmetically and address all of the mechanical issues needed. I had the interior redone. The work that was done mechanically included complete brakes. a tune up. wire harness. new window regulators. hoses. battery. battery cables. head gasket. manifold gasket. carb rebuild. exhaust manifold and waterpump. battery frame box. gas guage and float. new window channels and glass. fuel valve. tires etc. I left the original paint and chrome as I loved the petina of it. The car is all steel. To protect the petina. I had the car clear coated. the originality really shows through well. there is no filler in the car. As you can see in the pics. the minor rust issues are the right lower passenger door (about a ink pen size) on the outer skin. the under side looks solid but there are some minor rust spots here and there that are videoed(watch the video to see the car drive over the camera) the trunk pan was replaced and fixed from whatever rust spots where there. As the pics show in the engine cowl area. the original color was a burgandy. When we redid the interior. I ordered a new seat bottom and a new seat backrest. new cusion springs and new backrest springs. After completion of all of this. I have been driving her since 2012 on average trips of 30 miles at a time. I have taken it to many model A shows and it has stood out and people have paid more attention to this original petina model A than some of my frame off restorations! I have had it annually at the model A days in the Ammana colonies here in Iowa and it always gets pictures and lots of smiles. The only mechnaical issue I am aware of is that there is some blowby but the enigne runs with no knocks or misses and doesnt use any oil etc. I did not notice any leaks from storing it all winter. I am leaving the original ashtray on the dash but the lisence plates and toppers and magnet clock and magnet dash emblems do not go with the sale of the car. The headlights all work including the cowl lights and tailight as videoed. the Ahooga horn sounds awsome as videod. The guages work but the speedo does not. the gas tank was cleaned. As the video shows. this Model A drives very nice. I averaged around 45 mph when driving it. All the gears shift great. and all of the windows go up and down and all of the doors shut the way they should. The trunk latch latches like it should. The model A comes with the luggage racka nd the vintage Model A trunk with a tray inside and real leather straps(not vinyle) This car comes with a clean and current ready to register title. Watch the video. check out the pics. and make your judgemnt on the condtion of the car based on these. This is not a brand new resotred car. but a very nice true survivor with lots of petina that is sure to get looks and thumbs up wherever you go. I invite you by appointment to come and inspect the model A or hire ebay to do a independant inspection for you before placing a bid. I require a 500 dollar non refundable deposit within 24 hours of auction end. If I do not get the deposit within the time frame or before you come for the car. I will assume you are a dreamer or a scammer and not serious about buying it. I can recommend shippers I have used in the past who have been very reasonable. If you have any questions at all. call 563 568 1182 or 563 568 5111. thanks and have fun bidding on this uniqe rare find survivor Model A coupe Deluxe!Photo GalleryAdditional InformationVehicle History ReportDon't buy a used car without CARFAX®!
