Power Windows SELLER REMARKS The 1939 Ford is noteworthy for several reasons: the last year for a rumble seat. first year for hydraulic brakes. and for being the foundation for this incredible rod. To be honest. there aren't many better choices for a cruiser than a convertible coupe. and this one offers all the creature comforts with a classic look that will always be in demand. The body is Gibbons fiberglass. but you'd never be able to tell without knocking your knuckles on the surface. And while the '39 Ford could be had with a rumble seat. this one has been converted to a spacious and useful trunk. making it strictly a two-seater. but who wants to travel cross-country in a rumble seat anyway? A pointed Ford hood was sourced and subtly modified to fit the body. and despite the factory-style trim. it has a very custom look. Timeless teardrop headlights. that deeply V'd grille. and that handsome cream-colored paint job all harken back to 1939 but the shaved bumpers and stance give it a very sleek look. Custom pinstripes are practically mandatory on a car like this and while it does sport a pair of door handles. they're for show only. just to keep with the old-school vibe. The stunning red leather interior is so beautifully made that you really should take your time looking around inside. A custom bench seat is both comfortable and adds space inside. while a custom center console houses the long-handled shifter and a neat little clock. The beautifully finished dash has an original look that stretches all the way across the car. with late-model gauges under a glass panel that looks straight out of the '50s. A custom tilt column has been topped by a red leather banjo wheel and a Vintage Air HVAC system keeps it cool and comfortable. Other details include gorgeous door panels. tailored carpets. and a powerful AM/FM/CD stereo system. The custom top is tan Haartz canvas stretched over a 2. 5-inch chopped frame. and it tucks neatly behind the seats for a clean profile. top up or top down. The trunk is spacious enough for a long road trip and neatly finished with matching red side panels and carpets. an electric opener. and a Kenwood CD changer. The drivetrain is just the way you'd do it yourself. The engine is a 350 cubic inch L98 Chevy V8 with a polished TPI induction system from TIP Specialties. There's also a ton of chrome and billet. a massive aluminum radiator up front keeping everything cool. and a trick accessory drive the wraps around the air cleaner. The firewall is smoothed and recessed and all the plumbing and wiring is hidden out of sight for a very clean overall appearance. The front suspension includes tubular A-arms. power rack-and-pinion steering. coil-over shocks. as well as disc brakes. A 700R4 4-speed automatic overdrive transmission is great for highway cruising and feeds a Ford 9-inch from Currie. so you know it'll never break. Everying is painted bright red or polished. so even underneath it has a very traditional hot rod look. The custom exhaust system sounds amazing yet doesn't compromise ground clearance and it sits on bright red steel wheels with hubcaps and trim rings wrapped in 225/75/15 wide whitewall radials. A great take on an old favorite. this '39 Ford was built to drive but is right at home on the show field. A brilliant mix of old and new. it's the old school way to cruise today.
