Ford Other 1955 Description
1955 F600 former fire pumper truck from Iowa. 256 V8 and 4-speed trans w/2-speed rear end. 13. 33. miles !! As a fire truck in a small rural Iowa town. this vehicle has spent most of its life parked in a barn. Truck has been stored inside since pics were taken in 2011. Has original 7. 50 x 20 Widow-maker split-rim wheels on vehicle. but will include 6 19. 5 Budd wheels with tires that have also been stored inside. Truck will start and run good but seals in brake booster have dried out and is leaking. Obviously needs paint and TLC but will make a nice classic ride. Transmission able to have PTO installed if desired by new owner. Passenger side glass is cracked but all other glass is good. Doors close effortlessly with no slamming. Just give them light push and they close instantly !! Unreal. Truck located in SW Missouri near Springfield (Marionville) in my niece's barn. If you want to see the truck we will have to make arrangements with her to be able to get in and look at it. Any additional pics or info. don't hesitate to contact me. Have developed arthritis in both thumbs so I can't do the work required to fix this little jewel up. Thankfully its in the dry. On Apr-24-15 at 16:42:21 PDT. seller added the following information: I added some more pics. it was dark in the barn and I couldn't find the light switches. so only light was my flash. and my eyes suck anymore. the tag is on the glovebox door but don't know if its all readable in the pics. mice have built nest in the glovebox(yucch). The truck is about 25 miles from me. but if you need additional pics or info please don't hesitate. I didn't try to start it today. and my nephew was going to put the battery charger on it over the weekend. The battery was new in 2012. I meant to measure the exposed frame length but forgot my tape measure but I'm sure it's right at 10ft. On Apr-24-15 at 16:46:26 PDT. seller added the following information: We have clear title. I will have to go down and look at the truck to answer your other questions. was planning to anyway to take pics of interior. Don't think there is any rust. but seems like the battery compartment door in passenger-side floorboard has a little rust on it. I bought the truck in about 1997. My dad wanted it so we did some trading and he owned it until his death in 2010. at which time was transferred to my oldest sister. He removed the fire fighting pumps and stuff and put a small flatbed dump bed on it and piddled around on his farm with it. Someone wanted the bed and hoist also he removed them and sold them. When me and my 3 sisters split his estate. I ended up with the truck. Was planning to restore it. but developed arthritis in both thumbs and gave up. I found a set of Budd wheels and tires for it but haven't put them on. It has just sat in my oldest sister's daughter's barn ever since. I drove the truck in the barn where it is still sitting. The paint chips you can see in some of the pics were caused by a tornado it went thru in about 2003. windshield was also broken then. but my dad replaced it. I don't have a place to keep it so I decided to just sell it and free up some room in her barn. On Apr-25-15 at 15:13:52 PDT. seller added the following information: The truck measures 220" from front bumper to end of truck. The frame length behind cab is 9'7". I charged the battery and squirted a little starting fluid in it and cranked on it for a short time. but it didn't start. Next time I go down there. I will take off air cleaner and put a little gas in the carb. It has set for 4 yrs in the same spot. but it will start. because I drove it in there. Or starting it now may not be even necessary as most of you have talked of putting 390 engine or something in it anyway.
