Ford Ranchero 1961 Description
This came out of California last spring and has been in my garage since. I did drive it through last summer of course. It's a fun little truck and gets way too much attention. In anticipation of relocating I need to thin out my possessions. So it's a 1961 Ranchero with the 170 6cyl and Fordomatic two speed transmission. I purchased it with the bodywork freshly done along with window seals new chrome bumpers emblems mirrors pretty much how you see it. The interior had just been done also. In the last year I went over the rest you know the little stuff. horn heater wipers speedo cable missing pieces here and there. Added the tires and rims original painted to match car and caps come with also. Added the tonneau cover. Installed a petronix electronic ignition wires cap and coil. Installed a John Fish Carburetor. new heavy duty front sway bar and added a rear. I would never give it a fast rating but it runs really good and starts easily. I have checked mileage twice on short trips and came up with 30. These weren't meant for the interstate 65 is about as much as she wants to do on a road trip with the 3. 55 gearing. She has no oil leaks of any kind even after setting for 7 months and also started right up. I guess there is always bad alsoThe radio is original and not hooked up. Everyone is looking for that 55 year old virgin but there really rare. even though it's from California it does have some rust holes on the floor board in the usual areas that were patched so if your looking for very perfect you would weld in some patch panels. Everything under the hood is clean and routed well and generally makes sense it's not all boogered up but it could use some more freshing up to look as well as the rest of the truckI really pushed the limits with the new rubber. I trimmed the rear well well lips some but the right rear still rubs a bit on a big bump if your turning I may get to that yet. also It has an awesome stance but when I got the front end alignment done they suggested new coil springs. It drives well enough on a really good road but not so good on chopped up roads. I think you can get new springs with a drop it would help for sure. lastly they noted and I don't usually notice is that the master cylinder leaks a bit internally so no leaks but the pedal goes half way down eventually like in a parade when your constantly stopped. If your close your welcome to see and drive. Shipping or pickup is up to you although I have a pretty good shipper you can get a quote from. I am in a remote location so it can be a bit difficult for the big firms. Ok someone is going to ask and I always do too and have some great stories of breaking down and being stranded driving some new beast home. not saying you would make it but I can't think of a reason it wouldn't make a fairly long trip if you stayed below 65. Obviously I'm hoping someone buys it that will keep her garaged and take good care of her. It is for sale locally so it is possible I would end this auction earlyplease check with your significant other firstI think that's it you can always call with any questions 906-494-2693
