Ford Bronco 1978 Description
What really drew me to this Bronco when I purchased was how rust free it was and looked to always be that way.I have no idea if the miles are actual.
It has had some dents taken care of. I can see where the side of the hood was bumped but I didn't even notice that until weeks after I purchased.
The quarters look to be original and not a bit of rust.
Has had a skin put on a door but I think the entire door was replaced. The paint is really nice. Smooth and shiny. The hood could use a slight buff still.
The frame and underside are nice with no scale or rust. Almost entire underside has been painted black.
Rear window works with both the key and dash switch.
The A/C has been converted and works really well. I replaced all the seals and the drier. I did install a toggle switch under the dash to turn it on however the replacement part for the controls is $70 from JBG.
Engine is a 460 with maybe just a slightly larger cam than stock. Just rebuilt and has excellent oil pressure. Nothing crazy basically stock which gives it plenty of torque.
Trans is a C6. Shifts a little hard so the vacuum modulator may need adjusting or replaced.
Has a Ford 9" rear and Dana 44 front with 3:54 gears. I did put a Spartan locker in the rear.
Trailer hitch with working lights.
The vent windows need new closers.
When I purchased it had a tonneau cover on it that made it look like a short box truck. This goes with it. Bad part about that is the frame work was screwed to the truck. I filled the holes with white silicone and the only place they are really noticeable is on the top of the tailgate. I provided pictures.
Truck is riding on brand new Mickey Thompson 33x12.5 x15 Baha MTZ's which are surprisingly quiet for a mud tire. The wheels are Mickey Thompson 15x10's.
Interior is very nice. The front seats have been redone with a vinyl and is a quality job. The rear seat is still OE equipment. Has a 1 inch spot on the top seam just starting to separate.
Many of the front end components have been changed and it drives straight down the road. Doesn't wander bad for a Ford.
Not sure what else to say but if there are questions leave me a number and I will call you back. I know I am forgetting some details.
I know these are getting hard to find in good condition and especially in MI.
Thanks
