Ford Model T 1926 Description

Original 1926 Model T Sedan with 4 cylinder engine and electric start. The engine serial number. 14727589. nbsp;and frame serial number. 14727589. are identical. so I would presume that it still has the original engine. This serial number is for a 1927 Ford manufacturing date. but the vehicle has always been registered as a 1926. Mileage is listed as 0 because these vehicles only had a speedometer as an option and this vehicle does not have a speedometer. NOTE: The California vehicle identification number assigned for registration is on a sticker affixed to the body firewall. The vehicle could be registered with the original frame serial number with a vehicle verification inspection. The license plate is "1926T". and this plate will stay with the vehicle if sold and registered in California. The plates have to be turned into the DMV if sold to an out of state buyer. This vehicle is registered as an original 1926 Ford 2 Door. The California DMV registration is good until September 28. 2015 and meets all requirements for annual. online registration. This car was driven into the garage and has been stored on jack stands for the last 10 years and is very dusty. I have owned this car for twelve years and it has always started and run on 6 volt battery or magneto with the original coils. The vehicle currently needs a battery and the fuel line installed. I do not know the mechanical and/or safety condition of this vehicle. The running gear. body and fenders are all original. I am not sure if the upholstery is original. but it is in good condition and looks correct for the vintage. The paint is ok. but rough and chipping in some areas. The top does not have any rips in it. It appears to have some body filler in a couple of areas. There is chipping body filler or a rusted spot on the bottom of the right rear quarter panel. One of the wire wheels has a rusted out spot on it. There is no rusted out spots that I can fine on the floor pan. The vehicle appears to have the original wood floor boards and there are no floor mats in the vehicle. All of the body to frame mounting wood has been replaced. The engine has been serviced. tuned up. and a new exhaust manifold installed with the correct gaskets. Some bushings in the tie rod/drag link have been replaced. The front axle has modern grease seals and one bearing and race replaced. The rear axle has new outer grease seals and bearing sleeves replaced. The rear spring has new shackles and spring perch bushings replaced. The fan hub has new bushings and seals. The parking brake quadrant is new. The battery cables are new and of the correct gauge for 6 volt. The vehicle has the correct 17" steering wheel. but I do have a 16" steering wheel if you need a little more seating space. The vehicle has a driver’s outside rear view mirror and stop lights. The tires hold air and have not gone flat in the time that I have owned the vehicle. but appear to be very old and have to be replaced to be safe. The steering shaft bushing in the lower housing is loose and has to be repaired. The only item that I'm aware of that is not correct for the vintage is an aftermarket horn.
