Ford Torino 1976 Description
This car was a one owner when I bought it in April. All original. The build sheet is still under the front seat. I left it there. As you can see by the pics, the original trunk mat is still there, Jack and spare all original. It is a good runner, drives and runs out well. The interior is still all original and unmolested except I did remove the seats only to replace the carpet. The 400 needed a timing chain and the carb was missing so those are new as well. I replaced all common parts that need replaced periodically, under the hood so there would be no issues down the road. Brakes are all new including master cylinder, from local brake shop. I replaced the fuel tank and sending unit to eliminate any issues as well. All gauges work except the clock. The odometer shows 14,685. I expect that to be 114,685 as it needed the timing chain. It has beenwell maintained all of its life and had sat only 3 years according to the guy I got it from. Even the radio and 8 track tape player work!
Some of the new parts include All new brakes, pads, master cylinder, electronic control module, coil, plugs, wires, distributor cap, battery, holly carburetor, fuel tank, sending unit, air filter, fuel filter, fuel pump, 4 shock absorbers, new carpet in the interior, new paint job, new timing chain and gears, radiator hoses, thermostat, water pump, belts, solenoid, changed antifreeze... as you can see, extensiveworkhas been done to insure this car runs every day for some time to come. The great looks are a bonus. Don't be part of the Mustang, or Camaro, or Firebird crowd. Be unique! How many of these have you seen in the last 20 years.
There are a couple little chips in the paint, as it was painted first. You probably could not see them in pics. The car has AC on it, but when I was putting it back together I didn't put the top idler pulley in, or the AC belt on. The pulley is in the trunk if you want to run it. Also, the car has cruise control, but it was not hooked up and I didn't hook it up to the new carb, but it is there.
