Ford Other Pickups 1957 Description
If you're looking for something extremely unique to show/cruise and also pull your trailer, this is it. This truck is an ex-fire truck from southern Georgia with only 9K miles on it. It is rust free and always kept inside (please see pics). I'm told the cab is the same as an F100. We were in the final phases of completing the frame off restoration for my close cousin when he suddenly died. We worked on it almost every day and when that happened, I just covered it up, thinking I would finish it someday. I just cannot bring myself to completing it and would like to give someone an exceptional deal so they can finish it.
We installed a 2001 6.8L Ford V-10 engine with 4R100 OD transmission with the ZX emergency brake add-on with only 18K miles on it. Has all of the pulleys and accessories including AC compressor. We bought the best parts and have spent a lot of money on it. I have a project book full of receipts and notes, as well as some pics of the build as it progressed.
It actually is a 1958 model year, but we installed the '57 grille for looks which has already been restored and color matched to the front bumper and wheels. All of the glass including windshield are perfectly clear with no chips, excluding the wing windows which have minor delamination.
Here are some details of the key all new components:
Aluminum double cross flow radiator, electric fan, Lokar long stick shifter, Autometer designer gauges, Hydro Boost brake booster, custom 3" mandrel bent dual exhaust with Flowmaster mufflers all tucked up so it doesn't show, rear mounted fuel cell with electric fuel pump, stainless drop down battery box mounted under cab, K&N air filter, and new driveshaft including center carrier. Sniper Software from Florida reflashed the ECM.
We installed an Eaton 2 speed rear-end which is completely rebuilt with new drums, shoes, wheel cylinders, and 2 speed actuator to make it more highway friendly. It has all new tires as well. We also completely disassembled the bench seat and rebuilt it at a high cost, it sits great!
We wanted it to look like a farm truck so we sourced another donor truck with the era correct flatbed with Ford script and installed using heavy steel stringers instead of wood in anticipation of welding in a gooseneck hitch, and also a rear hitch. I had a local saw mill cut the correct dimension boards and recently installed them, but did not finish them as I don't know the preference of the next owners color scheme, or if they might switch to a dually pickup bed. I have the upright metal stakes for the head and side boards and extra wood if the new buyer wants to complete making them so it matches the bed floor. I also have a very rare Super-Duty hood scoop which we planned on installing if you want that, which I have one pic of. There's extra misc parts that I will give if interested.
Like I said in the beginning, this is an uncompleted project with minor things yet to do, like radiator hoses, plumbing the hydro-boost and front brake lines, finish some wiring like the dome light and wiper motor. We were almost done with it...
I encourage onsite inspections and you can hear it start and run briefly as the radiator is not hooked up. I am retired and have a fairly flexible schedule, just please make an appointment before coming over. It will need to be transported, but I will store it in my humidity controlled building until transportation can be arranged. I can also deliver for a fee within a reasonable distance from my home.
This is your chance to own an extremely unique vehicle for a fraction of the restoration costs.
Please ask all questions before end of auction and we reserve the right to cancel the auction at any time. $500 deposit due within 24 hours of end of auction. The truck and title will not be released until confirmation of funds for final sale amount. It is being sold as-is with no warranties expressed or implied.

Forgot to add the Painless 18 circuit wiring.
I've had some questions concerning the trucks width. The overall width is 90" which is to the outside of the new Grote marker lights. It's 6' 9" tall and fits easily on a trailer. We dismantled the rear leaf springs and removed 3 leafs and had spacer blocks made to retain the stock ride. Makes for a nice ride plus we epoxy painted each individual leaf before reassembling them.
