This '65 Mustang convertible has outstanding eye appeal and is a really nicely done restoration!Although not intended to be a "factoryoriginal" restoration, tasteful modifications make this "one of a kind" with the GT look a crowd pleaser that you'll be proud to own. Our seller is in his 80's, just sold his storage building where he kept his collection and this one needs a new home!
He bought the car about 10 years ago with the restoration already completed and has continued to improve on minor items during his ownership. A few items that will need to be addressed by the new owner include the bright light floorswitch (it's tight and doesn't engage); other exterior lights and blinkers all work, however, the parking lights did not come on separately; the console will need to be secured and the rear associated ash tray lid at the end (see photo of console) is loose in place. We've taken pictures of the noted paint chips, maybe you'll touch those up.He found a digital dash system that he really liked, so he had it installed and kept the original analog speedometer and gauge cluster in the event the buyer wants to go back to the original. It offers all of the information the original does and more (including a Tachometer-RPM's), but the odometer is not working properly and has not been diagnosed.
Some of the features include power convertible top, steering, and brakes; Styled Steel Wheels with "USRoyal" dual red line tires; GT style trumpet exhaust tips and 289 "High Performance" fender emblems and Shelby style Racing Stripes; There are less than 5,000 miles since the restoration. The paint is outstanding overall and you'll be proud to show it and drive it anywhere. The stripes are properly painted and clear coated over so there is no ridge and it lays flat like glass. The undercarriage? Check out the pictures! The power top works as it should and the boot cover fits properly and snaps right into place. Mechanically, it is tight, strong, and starts right up.
