1971 Australian Ford Falcon GTXY H.O. Tribute Car
This fully restored 1971 Australian Ford Falcon GTXY HO Phase III Tribute Car has been restored to an extremely high standard. The car has been in a private collection here in the States for nearly 15 years and this is the first time it's been offered for sale.
In late 1970, he new XY GT rolled off the line, nd was followed in 1971 with the all-time classic GT HO Phase III. With between 350 and 380bhp (270 - 280 kW) and 380 ft/lbs (513Nm) of torque, t was reputed then to be the world's fastest 4-door production car.
Looking suitably aggressive with its air intake protruding through the hood and bold side stripes, he XY GT's were affectionately known as "Shakers" to many people, nickname derived from the shaking action of the bonnet scoop and particularly noticeable while the engine is idling.
It is also the vehicle that most people associate with the term Falcon GT. The XY GT was the model that has most captured the imagination of the masses and it is the one that is most often copied.
Many Australian's have purchased standard Australian XY Falcons or Fairmonts and dressed them up to imitate the most legendary of all Falcon GT's to pay homage to this rare and desirable car, ut not to the high standard of this Falcon. No expense was spared in the restoration of this car and no detail overlooked.

This vehicle has a fully rebuilt Australian Ford V8 351 Cleveland with a Holly Carburetor and factory shaker setup. The transmission has been updated with a later model T5 5-speed manual transmission with hydraulic clutch operation. Also equipped with a LSD rear Differential and 4 wheel Disc Brakes makes the car a real performer. The owner decided to add a Power Steering System to make for a more comfortable driving car. The exterior of the car is completely rust free with very straight show worth panels and paint. Painted in the factory True Blue color and Factory equipped graphics make this car stand out in any crowd. The factory GTXY Black interior is completely new, ight down to every detail of an original Phase III H.O. car. All of the gauges have been replaced with factory original size Auto Meter Gauges in MPH for U.S. use. In short, his is a very unique car, ven by Australian standards. It's built to be very reliable and to pay direct homage to the original GT XY Falcon HO phase III. It sounds amazing and can run the freeway without issue, eeping up with most new cars.. Definitely a stand out at any car show and unique to drive being a "Right Hand Drive" vehicle.
