Ford Mustang 1982 Description
Up for sale is my 1982 Ford Mustang coupe. Let me start off by saying that the car has dents and scratches and is the original paint to the car so it has some pretty faded paint in some spots of the car down to the factory primer. But atleast you know what is under the paint. The car has a dent in the driver rearquarter lip that will come out pretty easy with paintless dent removal, the passenger side quarter lip has some scuffs from the previous owners but no real damage to speak of. The car is pretty straight considering its age. The car runs and drives but may need a headgasket. (Read the rest of the ad for more info)The interior is in driver quality shape, no prom queen. The carpet will need replaced and the seats will need recovered as they are both ripped. The car has a cracked floor pan where the driver side seats bolts down in the rear, easily fixable with a welder, have done a few in the past. The dash pad is in pretty good shape with the exception of a little crack in the speaker hole, it seems to be out of a different car as it is a different color than the rest of the interior. It has a blue dash mat that helps it not stick out so much. The interior does need work but the dash hull seems to be in really nice shape other than the aftermarket radio. The radio does work but the speakers will need to be replaced.
The engine has had a lot of maintenance done to it. New radiator, new carb (original included in purchase) new cap and rotor, plugs, plug wires, fuel pump, and a new steering shaft that I can tell. So now to the bad of the engine, Itmay needthe headgasket replaced more than likely, the car makes a bad exhaust leak sound. The car runs seems to run pretty cool according to the gauge. I have replaced the exhaust manifold gasket but it still has the same leaking sound, no it does not sound like a rod knock. You can feel the pressure coming out of the rear cylinder where the head mounts to the block so my guess is there is a piece of gasket missing from that area. But other than that the engine runs strong. The automatic transmission seems to shift pretty well. The A/C compressorhas been removed but the lines andare still in place.
The car would make a greatv8 project car.Or if you wanted to make it a nice daily driver you could do that as well with just a little bit of work. I had plans on keeping the car but have the chance to buy another that I have always wanted so this one has to go. Let me know if you have any questions or need any more pictures of anything and I will try my best to get them for you. I also have the car forsale locally so I reserve the right to end the listing at any time.
