Ford Other 1936 Description
1936 Ford GASSER. Originally campaigned by the Proval Brothers on the East coast in the late 60's. I rescued it from being turned into a street rod in the early 90's. I brought is back to life using parts I had squirreled away from vehicles I raced back in the day. All the work, except the interior stitching (Shawn Appleman), was performed by myself. The short-block was built by Steve Maksymyke. I completed the build in 1999. This HOT ROD runs consistant and straight. Best ET has been 9.93 @ 160. I have it dialed in today to run a comfortable 10.50This is a very solid steel car, with the exception of the rear fenders (fiberglass). The interior is a combination of aluminum and vinyl upholstery. The frame is a modified36 Ford with a six-point gageand the best industry upgrades.
In 2004 it won the World of Wheels (Competition Class), and was featured at the "Gathering of the Gassers" at IRP in 2006. This is a TWO THUMBS UP ride wherever it goes! She has been in hiding for the last four years and needs to get out and socialize.
"Glory Days" could easily become street legal.
Overview of the build;
- 350 SBC, Hilbourn INJECTED, Dart heads, custom headers, ROLLER Crane cam, forged crank, "H-Beam" rods, etc.
- POWERGLIDE (custom)with trans brake.
- 9" Ford rear-end. Reinforced, Strange axles, 5:31 ratio.
