Ford Mustang 1973 Description
I have spent a lot of time and money on my car; three years in the making, and now I am in the middle of an internal debate about to sell it or not, but here I go...I bought this car because I was looking for a mustang from the year I was born, I found several 73 mustangs but when I saw this one I knew this was the correct; it came with a 351 Cleveland and a FMX transmission; I put a 460 with D0VE heads, best iron heads you can have; and a C6 transmission, after I spent almost $1000 in a C4 that I ended almost throwing away; this 460 is a torque monster, almost 500 torque from factory; engine has an edelbrock intake; a 4 barrel holley carb 750 cfm with aluminum spacer; hooker headers; ford racing wires; crites motor mount; new starter; new alternator; msd 6al ignition box; accel coil and ignition relay; car has new big block coil springs; new shock absorber; new front disk and rear drum brakes; new pads and shoes; no rust, professional paint job was done with new floors; new front and rear tires and wheels, 245/60 15 front and 295/50 rear mickey thompson sportman s/t; adjustable leaf spring in the back; C6 has a fairbanks shift kit and was professional rebuilt with new components and an american shifter long arm; new high stall torque converter 2200 rpm; car has new front seats and interior carpet, new door panels; new grant steering wheel; new gas cap; 9" rear end 28 splines axles; I took out the third member to put a 3.50 gears that I have an a torque worm limited slip differential that I also have; there are too many things to remember... Now what the car will need; I am in the process to install lsd and new gear, currently is out of the car; after that drive shaft has to be cut and installed; will need radiator and fan assembly; transmission external cooler; transmission lines and linkage to the engine; I have some pulleys brackets but will need more; brake master cylinder vacuum booster and lines; gas tank installation (I have the gas tank); electrical system, I was about to redone the electrical system the easiest way possible, new cables from a fuse box that I installed to the rear lights, front lights, turn lights, wiper washers, horn (installed), and ignition coil from the master switch installed in the center console, is a 43 years old car you don't need computer or sensors!, the less cables the less problems; also will need to connect the H exhaust pipe (I have it with mufflers) to the headers; windshields and windows have to be sealed, I have windows rubber seal that need to be installed; paint was professional done, but I had the cars in a storage for years where I was working on it and because was a small place I scratched the paint several times...I am sure I forget things installed in the car and also things to be done; it is a project; personally I don't understand people that just look for a matching number car, for me an old car is something personal and you build it as you want, a matching number car is a new car, but there are people that look for a matching number car to take it to a car show, and is ok, for sure not my style! for me a car is an extension of the owner, and has to be unique; if you are looking for a factory matching number car and everything else this is not your car, but if you are looking for a car with potential, a unique and mean car this can be your opportunity; I forgot, I also have the domain mustang1973 dot com that goes with the car...any question please let me know; thanks.
