Ford E-Series Van 1970 Description
This Listing is for the 1970 SHORTY Window Van only that you see pictured. This is a 6 cylinder with a manual 3 on the Tree. It has been driven a few miles in the last couple weeks by me & another Guy that thought he wanted it.He thinks it has BLOW-BY BUT the engine LEAKS Oil profusely on the HOT Exhaust Manifold side. The Engine runs fine & makes NO Noise. The Oil leak looks to be coming from behind the Exhaust Manifold. It has leaked Oil for the two or three Years I have owned it but I purchased it planning on doing a V-8 Changeover so I never looked into the Leak. I never got around to doing the SWAP so it has just sat on my property. The Two side Doors have some RUST at the bottom of the Doors. I have this pictured. There was a Carpet on each side for the front & there is strong surface RUST in the Floor where the Carpets sat. I see NO other Rust on this Van. The Odometer reads 79279. I doubt if its original mileage for the year even though the Van looks great. All Panels look extremely straight & having no previous repairs. This being said please remember that the Van is over 45 years old & has Paint that I can not see under. This is probably the straightest Van I have had in 10 or more years....The engine is CLEAN but has a BAD OIL LEAK. Since this Van has just sat for many years I suspect that some of the stumbling especially at take of is BAD FUEL or a Gummed up Carburetor. The Seats are above average. The second Seat Upholstery does NOT match the front Seats. Arm Rests will NEED replaced. Dash Pad & Engine Cover has a LOT of Cracking. This is all pictured. The 15' Tires are great. Side Door Step locks into place firmly. Step is not bent. Windshield Wiper Arms are off. There are two pair of Arms in the back by the Spare Tire. Some of the Soft Seal will NEED REPLACED. The Windshield Soft Seal is the worst & I have this Pictured. All Glass is nice used. All Handles work fine. BE ADVISED:::: At some point in time some previous Owner put a Air Vent at the rear of the Roof. At some point in time this was no longer desired & a Patch was inserted. I have this pictured. You will search long & hard to find one this clean or straight.THIS IS NOT A DRIVE HOME VAN UNLESS YOU LIVE WITHIN 2 MILES OF MY HOUSE.
