Ford Torino 1969 Description
Selling my 1969 Ford Talladega. This car is a significant part of Ford racing history and with just over 100 in the Talladega Spoiler Registry they do not become available for sale everyday. Talladega's were purpose built for NASCAR homologation with many features that are specific to Talladega's only. This car is in need of a complete restoration as noted in the photo's but all the Talladega specific parts are there! The rocker panels which were rolled for ground clearance are in good useable shape. All the nose inner structure is in great shape. All the wire extensions to accommodate the longer nose are there and intact. The oil cooler radiator, hoses and adapter is present (this piece alone sells for over $1000, and that'sif you can find a complete setup). The original N case ford 9" and matching number transmission is with the car. The engine is a standard bore block that I personally pulled from and R code cyclone. The block had std bore pistons in it and looks to need one sleeve from pitting in the cylinder wall. The block, heads and intake all came from the same engine and the block's date code is 9 E 19. The condition of the block looks nice with a lot of the original ford blue paint on it. The crank, oil pan, intake and carb are all original and included. This Talladega was originally white and was built on only the second day of production. The early cars had cast Talladega emblems on the tops of the doors compared to stickers on the later Talladega's. This car has one original cast emblem which could be used to cast a second. I have never seen one of these original emblems for sale and consider them to be extremely rare. This car needs quarters, fenders, doors, front fender's, roof skin, floors. This car has been in a driver's side accident at some point in it's life and has a replacement rear quarter and some damage to the rear floor. The dash is in nice shape and the interior is intact but needs restoration. I do have the original radiator and shroud. I have a nice set of Torino doors and fenders that are included in the sale. I also have a couple of Torino and ranchero parts cars that parts could be bought off of after the sale if interested. I have included the maximum amount of photo's allowed but please ask any questions before bidding. I request to speak with any bidder that has less then 5 ebay transactions before you bid or your bid will be cancelled. The car has a clear title in my name. This car can be seen locally and is being advertised locally soI reserve the right to end the auction early if the car sells before auction end. Buyer is responsible for shipping. The car rolls and steers only. I will be available to help load the vehicle. I can also transport the car within 100 miles of my location for a reasonable fee. I have an excellent Ebay rating and wish to keep it. Please ask any questions you have, This car is in need of a lot of work but is worth the investment and is only going to increase in value. Thank You and Good Luck!On Oct-14-16 at 04:05:01 PDT, seller added the following information:Update*** I described the block as needing 1 sleeve. That is only if you wish to keep it standard bore because one cylinder had some surface rust. This is a nice block and would just need a slight bore and not a sleeve if you didn't care to keep it standard bore. Thanks!
