Ford E-Series Van 1965 Description
I picked up this Super RARE Possibly a "Prototype" because it has 1966 tail lights ! I was told by a Retired Ford Falcon Factory Worker that was from the Milpitas California and He also said he has NEVER seen another Super Van like this one ! So This "Ford Falcon" Super Van" With Less then 2000 ever built and only a few Converted to the Travel Wagon, even Rarer is the C4 Automatic ( most had a Standard Transmission with 3 on the tree column ! ) and Dealer Installed Fleet-Air-T-300 Air Conditioner That Blows Ice Cold !When I got it originally I was going to clean it up and see what it would take to get running, But a buddy of mine's wife saw it and fell in love with it and wanted it to sell's flowers at the local flee markets and would use it to promote her business, so they bought it.1 year later he stated to get it ready by getting it running freeing up the brakes and tearing out all the Travel Wagon / camper stuff because they needed the space for the Flowers. So he call's me up one day and asked me if I wanted to buy it back after all the work he did the wife wanted to Do a Full restoration on it so he got a estimate and said there was No way he was going to spend that much on a weekend Van. So I bought it back ! So I have No idea where to start here we Go I started by putting it on a lift and pulled all the wheel's off and Did a Complete Brake Job Starting from Master cylinder All Copper Brake lines front to rear side to side, Hardware kit's, Shoes, wheel cylinders, turned all the Wheel Drums still at legal limit, new wheel bearings,Axel bearings and seals, New Cooker Wide White Wall Radials Tires 195/75/14 and those are REAL RADIR RIMS From the 1960's !!! Not Re-Pops ! So Next was to pull the Engine,Transmission, Driveshaft to all be Re-Built. 1965 was the first Year for this 240 c.i. 6 cylinder. So Motor got a Full Re-Build including Tearing down to bear block washing all parts, honing block All New Freeze Plugs,Bearings,Pistons,Rings,Cam,Valves and Springs,Rockers,Pushrods,Oil Pump,Water Pump,Gaskets,Distributor,Coil,Plug Wires,Spark Plugs,Vacuum lines,Belts,Hoses and battery.Re-Built Carburetor and A/C Compressor and Condenser up dated to R-134 with New fan on top of it.Only thing I could not find was the original air cleaner I have bought 2 of them off ebay and they were wrong so I have a Foam one that dose the Job for now.Next Full Re-Build on Transmission with a mild shift kit installed and all new Tranny lines and cooler.New Universals installed on driveshaft. Then put it ALL back Together again ! Glass is All Original and in Real Nice Condition the Pop Top Folds up and down easily and NO Leaks The Body is ALL Original Most of the Paint is ORIGINAL the bottoms have been touched up and as you can see the small dings and dents from over the pass 51 years.there is patch's welded in the rear quarters before I got it and the rear pan is the only rust on the Body as shown in pictures.I did touch up the white with a primer sealer that matched great. The Seats are Original including the jump seat on the engine cover ! all the paint on the inside is Original on the passenger floor there is 2 tiny rust spots smaller then the penny's to show size and that is it.The undercarriage is like it has been in Arizona it's whole life there is just this fine white dust on it as shown in pictures. So I do think it is from out west maybe the Owner bought it New in California and was in the Navy out of San Diego California and got a job in Connicticut at the Groton Sub Base by the old sticker on the Bumper who knows ? good story though.. So there you have it Run's and Drives Like New will cruse at 70 mph all day.No Leaks ! Ready To Show or Cruse or haul the bikes around turns heads where ever it goes..Good Luck Bidding..Sold AS IS has a CT Q-1 form signed as a Bill of Sale and a Vin Verification form signed in CT they Do Not Give Titles on 25 years or older Vehicles so ck your DMV to make sure on paperwork. Feel free to come out and see it and drive it I am 20 min outside Hartford CT 06084..I have 100% feedback so Bid with Confidence P.S.
