Ford F-150 1978 Description
This is a 1978 Ford short box truck 4X4 with a manual transmission. The 1978 and 79 are the years that are really sought after with the short box being even more in demand as the short box is considered more of a toy than a work truck. This truck is a major head turner. Body is in great shape and no rust. It was painted before I bought it 10 years ago. It has been kept in a heated shop since I have owned it. I have added a media USB radio, Pioneer speakers and power door locks with keyless entry. The power door locks are professionally installed inside the door and other than having remote you would not know they were installed. The interior is in good shape. No tears in the seat or carpet. The only thing missing is the trim around the shift and 4X4 boot which I can also order if need be. The engine is a 351 that runs and sounds great. The tires are 33" with like new tread. Box has a nice Duraliner in it. It has also been converted over to a 1 wire internally regulated alternator so no dimming of headlights at stoplights and no need for an extra external voltage regulator. So things that need some attention at some point. It leaks some fluid from the transfer case and rear end. Nothing major by any means and probably just a seal. It just leaves its mark if parked for an extended period of time. Also the passenger side window will need a new track at some point. If the windows is rolled down all the way it wants to come off track. All parts are available at LMC Truck and the repair is not hard. You can certainly find one for less money but I will guarantee you will spend way more by the time you are done doing a restore. This one is ready to drive and enjoy. Any questions please feel free to let me know. Thanks.
