Ford Mustang 1965 Description
Single owner garage kept 1965 Ford Mustang coupe that has not been restored or modified in any way. As a boy. my neighbor drove me around in this car. Her husband bought it for her brand new and it has lived its entire life in her garage here in San Antonio. She became ill and stopped driving it in the mid 90's. It was covered and left in the garage. I remember asking. around this time. if it had been repainted. She stated yes but with the factory original color. This places the paint job sometime in the early 90's or late 80's. I can't believe it still looks so good. Unfortunately. she passed away about 10 years ago. Her son simply left the car in the garage. One day. during a visit. he mentioned he was having to sell it. Without a second thought. I bought it from him. It has taken me years of my spare time but I have it running and looking great. Even cold. you only have to depress the gas pedal once to set the choke and she'll crank right up. I have put less than 100 miles on the vehicle. My wife and I simply cruise around town in it every few months. I'm afraid to leave it parked anywhere in public. For the details . . . The paint is beautiful but she does have a few dents and scratches as seen in the photos. The left back panel has two chips in it and the top of the right door has a dent on it. Otherwise there are other very minor blemishes you can only see close up. The chrome items under the front bumper (I don't know what they are called) are rusty as well as the hubs. Otherwise the car shows no rust through the paint or under the vehicle. Again. this car was garaged and loved its entire life. On the interior everything is how it was when I received it. All the windows roll up and down smoothly. The factor mustang AC blew cool when I first got the car. I plan to recharge it soon and see what happens. The compressor does engage just fine though. It is not frozen up. As for the engine and driving. she does great. Again. the engine runs fine. No smoke or dripping fluids of any sort that I can see. The clutch is a bit rough but i'm not the best at a manual transmission. There is play in the steering but nothing that makes it undriveable. There are factory disk brakes on the front wheels. The car came with a towing package and luggage rack. There are strong springs and shocks on the back and I have a removable tow bar which can be reinstalled if desired. I haven't had her on the road in several months but she passed inspection just fine last year. I plan to get it inspected again this week for test drives. I don't know what else to say. I'm not a super car guy so I don't know what you might want to know. drop me a line and I'll convey whatever info you might want to know. I've been as honest as I can in this write up. Please understand that I'm sharing all the imperfections so that you can fully understand the car you might be interested in. This car is simply an original vehicle which has been well kept and loved for fifty years now.
