Dodge Other 1973 Description
This is a 1973 20ft Dodge Superior Motorhome made by the Superior Bus Company of Lima, Ohio. Rebuilt the engine and transmission in March 2015 and it has less than 600 miles since. Replaced the electric fuel pump with a mechanical pump and it has a new 2barrelcarb. It has a new starter and a new heavy duty radiator. It has two new batteries. Replaced the wheel brake cylinders. The tires have 90% tread. New paint job and interior in June 2015.The body was chemically stripped down to the bare steel. Removed all the old carpet and put in new carpet and linoleum. Put in a new toilet in bathroom. Microwave, refrigerator and stove all work well. I replaced the tail lights with LEDs and put new lens on the brake lights. Removed the gas tank cleaned it and put in a new sending unit and gas gauge. The cabin AC/Heat unit works great. It did not come with AC at the front. It has two flat screens both hooked up to a digitalantennaand cable ready and the front tv can easily be moved to the back for tailgating at a Carolina Panther or Auburn Tigers game. All the cables for connecting to shore power are there whether at home or at an RV park. It is made of steel with an alodine plating. When scratched the alodine would bleed into the scratch and prevent the steel from rusting. It has a 318 Dodge Engine. Often called the tank for it's sturdy construction, there is an urban legend that one rolled several times in an accident on an interstate. It came to rest on its wheels and the driver opened the door by just turning the door lock handle. It was built using 1st rate components, plumbing lines were copper -- not plastic. For a small unit it has lots of interior storage and innovations. Black & Grey tanks are enclosed in a heated foam lined compartment. The fresh water tank has heat strips under it. The forward seat on the dinette flips over and becomes a forward facing bench seat. The roof is in great condition with no leaks. I have included some before photos. A lot of work was done on this RV including a lot of manual labor by myself on the interior. Its not perfect but it is very nice. The only thing not working is the generator. Its all there but stopped working last year.
