MEET RD - He is a 1955 Dodge pick up truck with tons of character - An amazing vehicle. There is no reserve and the truck is also listed on several other sites - So it is subject to removal prior to auction ending.Since RD has developed a unique character - the request from everyone is that we put him up for adoption. So here's your chance to adopt a new family member to keep forever.

WE BUILT several rides in Nevada at the same time - So in the shop during the incubationstage of building this one - all of the parts and that section of the shop were labeled "RD" for Red Dodge - RDtook on thatnameas we drove him out the door. From day one he gets tons of attentioneverywhere he goes. People talk to him and refer to him as a living being.

SOLID body and chassis - The truck is from a desert farm in Nevada plus all of the other parts of the assembly. When RD was complete we shipped him directly to SC - He is located just south of Charlotte NC at this time learning to eat grits and cornbread.

MARKETING TOOL- We built several vehicles of this type for promotional use. One example is a customerwho rents out his truck by the hour with restaurant signs on the sides. Note the initialwood structure for holding signs.If you own acompanyi.e. - a consumer product or service -Yes you can buy the truck put yourcompany or product name on the side board and or the doors -Boom you have a marketing tool not a just a company truck. When at car shows - You canbring old clothes for the guests/customers to wear during an old timeyphoto shoot. RD is a great prop -Flip some of the shots to black and white. - the truck is a promo vehicle.

BASE -We started with a perfect running low miles Toyota pick up truck - sent it into the auto shop for new clutch new weber carb mounted onto the 22 R engine plus tons of new everything it might need. Then we test drove the truck for a few weeks to make sure everything was perfect. Next we pulled the Toyota cab off cut out a big piece of the firewall and mounted it temporarily onto the newly painted chassis for more testing while we installed more new parts. When that all passed with flying colors we welded the Toyota firewall piece into the floorboard of the Dodge. Shortly after that we drove the Toyota out of the shop still titled licensed and registered as a1988 Toyota pick up truck but now with the slight update of a true patina'd 55 Dodge pick up body only.

HIGHWAY - The driving experience is beyond words - All of our people had the chance to drive RD with permanent smiles on their faces at all times. He glides down the highway perfectly. Great handling up to interstate speeds Sips fuel big time - great mileage pulls strong and can pass when you need it - aerodynamic it appears plus lightweight. Low center of gravity.Stops fine corners great all wonderful. PLUSthe bonus of people waving honking signingand stopping to see him. The original big steering wheel adds to the smooth driving experience. A worn out hat of some sort and stained clothing is required to match character when driving.

ELECTRICAL -The heater works great - windshield wipers too - all gauges work - speedo too - thereis a large hole in the mid of the dash reservedfor a high end sound system. Since there are 10 options of choice - we will leave that addition up to you - the wires are marked for the sound/GPS/back up camera system. AC is easy to add later - lots of room and a place for the compressor.

TIRES wheels and spare are new- Yes the front seat is a real cow hide - The two aluminum panels in the bed are hinged on the sides to lift up - under the right side is access to the original fuel tank - under theleft side panel is the battery mounted inside a plastic battery box. The woodplank down the middle of the bed isa standard featurewe have learned to install on all hot rod trucks - a center plank for the motorcycle. The truck hauls a street bike nicely. The bed is low so it is easy to ramp on a bike no problem. If light service is required - the hood unbolts. If aggressive access is required - the whole front clip unbolts via four bolts.

UNFINISHED - Includedare two cans ofthe special matched and pre-faded turquoise paint.My intent was to add some colors in areas plus finish thepaint work on the tailgate etc - But everyone has told me to leave it natural to sell. The tan painted areas were being worked on with that base coat only. There is not a clear coat on the existing paint for that reason. Thesound system is to be chosen -An oval piece of décor is missing from the passenger side of the dash - there are many optionsto finish this - one of many is a mini version of the front of the truck placed on that panel. You can install carpet if you wish - it is ready -There are about ten options for the door panels - that will be the new owner's pick also.We haveaplank and the latch part for the motorcycle ramp if you want it too.We alsohave shortrear bumper-ets if you want them for the back end.
