Dodge Other Pickups 1959 Description
1959 Dodge Powerwagon on a 2001 3/4 Ton frame and chassie. 24v Cummins and 6 speed Trans. I built this truck it took me 2 years. almost a rust free truck there was a little rust just pin holes in the floor and the bottom of the doors. The drip rails were the worse part. You can see all my work lots of picks on Ronsrods.com. I did not cut the frame I only cut the very end of the frame to make the bed a dump bed. It is hinged at the back but there is no hydrologics or cylinder. The engine is a tight fit I cut the firewall back and recessed it behind the engine. Put electric fans on it modified front core support and mounted intercooler and radiator no room for ac condenser I was going to remote mount it. The compressor is there just no condenser. There is an old ac unit that was complete when I removed it from a 63 ford truck. The air cleaner is a AEM brute force with a custom fiberglass box on top of the fender.I took the gauge cluster from the 2001 truck and remote the gage faces into orginal gages the gauge cluster is in the glove box. Never got the speedometer to work. I think I have a cut wire going to speed sensor. Temp fuel and tack work. The 2001 was my everyday driver before the clutch went out. That is when I started the transformation to the 59 cab the block had a small leak from a crack in the left side of the block. I patched it with. It seamed to be holding until the bearings went out on one of my fans and the fan cut a hole in the radiator the truck got a little hot but did not feel real hot but it got hot enough to cause my leak to come back. Truck still runs good but it is leaking water also still needs the fan replaced. There are still some other little things that need completed. I just don't have time right now. I am trying to get my rent house repairs completed and need the money. I hate to sell her. When I built her I was not planing on selling her. There has been a lot of work put into her. Not another one around. Get looks everywhere I go.
