Dodge Other Pickups 1964 Description
1964 Dodge D100 Sweptline - Dodge introduced the most radically changed pickups in their history for 1961. Previous generations continued to use engines from the generation before, but 1961 utilized Chrysler’s all-new and now famous Slant Six engine, which was standard in all light duty pickups. The new Dodge also featured the industry’s first use of alternators in pickups. Marking a drastic departure from the past, this all new Sweptline design featured large flat panels broken only by a sweeping crease forming a check in the rear of the styled Sweptside cargo box. Integrated cab steps were concealed by the doors and a full-width hood featured faux hood louvers. The introductory grille was made up of tinsel thin bars. Since it was both fragile and barely covered the front fascia, 1962 saw beefier front ornamentation more appropriate on a work truck, as this was still a time when trucks were primarily used for utility and didn’t have much use for excessive styling elements. 1962 also saw Dodge’s first crew cabs available as a regular production option. This classic Maui Blue D100 Sweptline is both a head turner and a great driving truck for all occasions. Everyone can always use a truck for a multitude of uses we don't have enough space to list in this ad. And, when you are out shopping for a truck priced under $20k, why not own one with some personalily?! Why drive a late model work truck that drops in value with every miles and day that passes when you can invest wisely in a classic that looks this good? As the owner of Monaco Luxury I purchase every vehicle that comes into inventory. I don't purchase anything that I wouldn't trust on the road and take pride in as a personal vehicle. With that in mind I located this AZ truck in the Phoenix area and brought it to TX. Like TX, the AZ climate doesn't rot out vehicles as it does up north and this Dodge shows to be from a dry climate. Before our purchase, the interior had recently been redone, a new white toolbox was installed, the bed was lined, new tires were added, and the entire truck was repainted. The paint isn't a "Ferrari paint job" by any means but is presentable for a work truck/weekend driver D100. The truck starts, idles, shift, accelerates, and brakes nicely with no known issues. The truck has been parked in the same spot over a week with no leaks. All the electrical components are in good condition with exception of the speedometer that currently isn't registering (will try to fix soon). It also needs a gas pedal which we are currently tracking down. Features and options include; 6 Cylinder Engine, 3 Speed Manual, 2WD, Chrome Mirrors, Vent Windows, Toolbox, Spray-in Bedliner, Heavy Duty Barden™ Rear Bumper, Tire Tools, Spare Tire, 15" Factory Hubcaps, and Thick Mastercraft™ Courser AXT 235/75 R15 Tires! If you have been looking for an affordable, classic truck with some unique looks ...your search is over.
