Dodge Dart 1967 Description
1967 Dodge Dart GT
I’ve owned this car since 2004 and I am the third owner. It has resided in Seattle since it was purchased at Bill Pierre Dodge back in the sixties. The engine is not original. Chasis has 2445 miles on it (Ha ha ) but really 202,445. It came originally with a slant six and I put a newer 70s style slant six in it after the original engine could no longer move too well. Both 225. Car drives great. I have included my compression test photos; very even compression around 125 on all six cylinders. Car starts right up and everything works. It even stops as long as you plan ahead. 9’ drum brakes all around. They are pretty fresh on all four wheels although a disc conversion would be ideal. I put a Mopar brake booster in it a couple years ago and its kinda weird. Car comes to a crashing halt quite easily at first but after the first few brakes everything works great if a bit squeaky. No leaks in the hydraulic system. Power steering fluid leaks where one has to fill it every 3,000 miles or so. Auto Trans does not leak and fluid looks healthy as pictured. Engine leaks no oil that I am aware of. Just changed the plugs. This car can drive anywhere. I changed a tie rod end a few years ago. When driving on the highway at 70 MPH car has a tendency to drift to the right. I have never aligned it so there you go. Tires are good but 6 years old ( I have receipt). Holley 1920 single barrel carburetor. Pictures tell the story of rust and not being garaged and that is the reason I am selling it. Car was originally red but painted blue by the second owners wife as blue is (or was) her favorite color. Trunk has no mat and plenty of rust but I believe its solid. Floor pans as pictured…. Some light showing in a pin hole on passenger side. Interior needs help. Missing drivers side dart GT metal badge and rear trunk Dart GT Badge. Door is missing his plastic lock hat. All systems functional: wipers lights heater, changed the heater core a few years ago. Plenty of little rust spots and semi-professional attempts to remedy aesthetic issues. Windows all roll up and down. Radio works but needs antenna, I put in an aftermarket cd player that works sometimes but only plays the Band. Trunk lock has vanished. I might have door keys but I also may not. Gas tank leaks. You can put about ¼ tank in and it will tolerate that much but then …. Well leaks. I have included a new gas tank and sending unit for fuel gauge that works. This car is plenty restorable. I don’t really know anything about metal and body work outside of pur-15 but it doesn’t seem like a totally lost cause but it will be soon if not pounced upon. Like I said this car can drive anywhere in the US so that’s not really the issue. I have priced it with no reserve so its here to sell. Please bid earnestly and honestly. I want everyone to be happy.
