Chevrolet C/K Pickup 1500 1994 Description
I built 2 of these trucks and decided to keep the other one and listing this one up for sale. Its a nice southern rust free truck that has not been any accidents. It does have a reconstructed title due to some wiring harness fire damage under the hood which you would never know by looking at it today thats for sure. Just pointing that out as full disclosure. Awesome truck. It originally was a 4.3L v6 5spd truck with fleet side bed. Pretty much only the cab and frame are original to this vehicle. Doors, fenders, hood, bumpers, bed and most of the interior was all changed to bring this vehicle up to this level. Cab was lined with dynamat sound deadner to give the truck a quieter more solid sound and feel to the old truck. New carpet was then installed and the door panels and the 40/60 bench seat and even a set of stock floor mats are from a truck I found during the cash for clunkers that were just spotless condition so I jumped on those to keep the interior mostly original. Although I did have the trim around the window switches painted to match the body when the truck was painted and the center section of the dash, all the panels were cleaned and prepped and painted with gloss black interior paint as none of those panels the factory coloring faded differently and just didnt match well for a vehicle of this level of detail. The windshield and rear glass was replaced when the truck was painted as well. the rear glass was just nasty from 20 years and I replaced with a nice factory tinted rear glass that is not stick on tint on the rear glass. the original windshield was cracked from the heat of the fire under hood which is why the windshield and hood were replaced. Fenders were dinged up so I replaced those and the bumpers the chrome was just ugly so I put new bumpers, grille and head lights in the truck. As for the mileage on the truck, I have no clue how many miles are on the truck, it had something like 190k when I bought it but right after that I yanked the engine to do a v8 swap and so I bought a new v8 instrument cluster so the tach would be correct and so it has 40k miles on it since that date although everything has been changed at least once since then. The CURRENT setup has about 2500 miles except the rear tires which are brand new with no mileage.Current setup has 3" DJM Lower control arms up front with Eibach progressive rate v8 springs and Beltech front sway bar. 4" leaf spring drop in rear which handles better than the cheaper shackle, hanger drop and Edelbrock IAS performance shocks with the rear shock mounts relocated for better suspension travel. Front wheels are Boss 338 18x8 with 255/45R18 tires and rears are Boss 338 18x9.5 with Nitto 555R 275/45R18 tires for a nice staggered look that perform great. The brakes have been redone and the crappy antilock brake setup removed for better braking and brake feel.
For the drivetrain, Nice fresh 408ci iron block stroker motor from Livernois Motorsports in TX. This motor is all forged and running a low 9.7:1 compression ratio as I was going to put a nice procharger F1 on this motor but I have decided to do a different project on something else but motor still makes 520hp with that low compression naturally aspirated. the heads are stage 3 ported Lloyd Elliot 317 casting heads with a modified procomp intake which I powder coated mirror black with a procomp 101mm throttle body. Motor currently is running a set of Racetronix flow matched 42lb/hr injectors rated at 3 bar but running them at 4 bar fuel pressure so they are closer to 50lb/hr injectors. cam is a comp cams centrifugal blower cam part number 54-477-11 with 227/243 duration @.050 and .624"/.624" lift with a blower friendly 114 LSA. For exhaust, I am running Shoenfeld Long tube headers to dual 3" exhaust which does have 2 3" cataltyic converters to a dual 3" in/out x pipe muffler and then I dumped the 3" exhaust out behind each rear tire with black coated 3.5" tips. Sounds AWESOME and still very streetable setup. behind this engine is a nice heavy duty 4L80E with custom driveshaft to a 1990 454SS 14 bolt 9.5" rearend with 3.73 gears and upgraded Detroit Locker true trac posi differential. The original 454ss posi was just garbage from day 1 so I put that true trac in there and that is an awesome differential.
results are this 520hp motor pulled 413hp at the rear wheels on a mustang brand chassis dyno. Taking 520 and multiply by .80 for 20% drivetrain loss for truck being an automatic and you get 416rwhp so it pulled 413 so the 520 number is not an exaggerated figure. with this heavy duty trans and rearend that drivetrain loss could easily be 25%.
Any questions please ask away. I spent a lot of time and a LOT of money building this truck and so I dont mind talking about it. I put lots of pictures on here as well as scans of the dyno pull.
