Chevrolet Corvette 1955 Description
Where do I start ? If your looking to invest or owen a 55 Corvette that has neverhadany body damage work done or any body cracking, also having 99% original parts then read on.Exterior= has all original bumper, exshaust tip, S/S, front NOS original emblem, original NOS grill shell and teet, headlights, tail light, hub cap, welded steel wheel, original spare tire still having the tits in the thread, jack, trunk mat beige # matching, spar tire board and instructions, license plastic cover and on and on(all original) Under= the hood from the NOS air cleaner (still have the original box) to the original shielding, not a repro ( I know because I'm the only one that repro'ed them for over 25 years) to the radiator cap #549, fuel pump #4150 and Dist vacuum advance #116085.Hood weatherstripping has the "s" (all original) Interior=even the Radio that has never been worked on and work, steering wheel and NOS horn butto, all gage, seat frames, shifter NOS no, under dash area (all original) . OK lets put it this way what is not original= heater hose, spark plugs, battery, wate, oil,4 tires, ai, seat cover, rugs, windshield, shock, weatherstripping Theinterior is done in German Leather, soft top is done in German black canva, some items are dealer accessories like 55 engine heater, 55 R/S mirro, 55 tissue box', 55 Radiator filte, 55 locking gas ca, also after market rear view mirror add on ite, PG Oil eye, spot light, tool ki, rear air shock, trailer hitch / Why? It'sto make the 55more comfortable to drive (but those items can be removed or replaced in a matter of a days) Years ago Hagertyhad it insuredat agreed value of 150K, Now lately Ihad National Corvette Museum insurance itat agreed value of 200K .(Noland Adamwell know Corvette expert did the praise' el ) It has been in many Magazines like Vette, vette-Value, CorvetteEnthusiast, Corvette and many Calendars, Won NCRS top flightat the 2005 NCRS National's honoring the 50th year for the 1955 Corvettewhile we pulled a 1947 serial # 453 tear drop trailer there ( yes we did) that also goes with the Corvette, it also won ladies choice . Also best of class at Ironstone concours D'elegance 2002, It's one of 15 Original copper color Corvettes sold which I canproveto have been the original color ( because when I had it painted it's second ever paint job, I left the area behind the trunk card boardoriginal and un-touched to prove it was a copper Corvett, it alsohas the original green tinted bubble top one of 5 everdesigned and madefor GM in 1953 just for the Autorama shows of the 50's.I use the rare GM accessory 1953 to 1955 MOTOR wire wheelson it only because ( I like the look) and many "Dealers" did show and sell many 53 to 55 Corvettes wearing the wire wheel, but I also have the original perfect hub caps & wheels. Also have the after market rare Plasticon hard top made in Ca.Thatgoes with the car. You see some Corvettes are selling saying it's the best restored 55 in the world!I don't use the word restored because I dint want a trailer queen . I use the word reconditionedbecause I planed to drive it! By chroming, or rebuildingevery original part or using NOS original partswhen needed, with correct dates ( June car) and logos markings, so I could say I'm driving a real original 55 Corvette not a repaired 55 having many repro body parts and other parts . If you live in NY you canfly out andfeel good about driving it back to NY.We'vedriven her to NY, Fl, Canada and many others states .You will not find any rust under the Corvette even any part that wasever rusted. If your lookingat buying a clean shinny restored trailer queen done 5 days ag, and only pull it out of the trailer or garage once a year to show it off then skip this 1955 Corvette. Call me I'll spend all the time you want on the phone then come see it, bring a NCRS 500 point master master judge with you, find anything I said isnot true and I'll pay for your trip here and back home.
I've never tried to sell the Corvette before I've had it for 35 year, only reason for selling it is to move on getting older, cant keep things forever you can call me at 530-265-2756 Ca time
Reading my own write up I for got to mention the engine and heads are original rebuilt once 5 years ago 30 over// PG and rear end original
