Chevrolet Other 1933 Description
This is without a doubt one of the best driving, handling and most comfortable hot rods I have ever driven and there have been many. This car was built by a true craftsman many years ago and driven close to 40k miles by him. Normally a Chevrolet body of this vintage is a veritable termite condo but the wood in this machine has been all replaced by steel and that in itself is a work of art. Just look at the steel work in the doors, ceiling and trunk areas, the floor is the same and although the car is channeled over an original boxed frame the floor is dropped similar to that in an XKE for more foot room and longer legs. Engine is a rebuilt 4 bolt 350 with Crane cam and Holley carb. Transmission is a very smooth and soft shifting Turbo 350, rear is a 9" Ford with 2.79 gears and Granada brakes. Front end is a Ford axle with Econoline brakes and steered by a Chevelle box. Brakes are also power. Speaking of power, the electrical system is another work of art sporting PW, power cowl vent and cruise control, this car is a driver. A stereo is expertly mounted on the ceiling with four speakers, extra run circuits for four more along with plugs for an amp if desired. Other circuits are also run including a power antenna and power trunk if desired at a later date. Front suspension is as mentioned original Chevrolet but the rear is a masterful three link with "Johnny Joints" and Afco springs. Battery was new last month and the full array of gauges all function correctly although the speedo reads a little slow. Exhaust is a nicely done full unit and is rather quiet, possibly too quiet for some but you can hear the stereo. A good eye will see that this is not your normal belly button, 1-800-hotrod, but rather a real, hand built hot rod like they all used to be. The only divergence from that has been done by me, yes I am guilty of installing a Lokar e-brake and AN fuel lines from the pump to the carb. This is simply a nice car and could be taken to the next level with paint and upholstery or simply enjoyed as-is as I am doing currently. The car is licensed/titled in my name in NY and can be demonstratedby me, no test pilots as always and no trades on this one. I have a folder of pertinent info regarding the car along with full electrical schematics for everything and many part numbers for parts used.
