Chevrolet Corvette 1968 Description

1968 CHEVY CORVETTE

STINGRAY!!

ONLY 18K MILES!!

FULLY RESTORED - SHOW QUALITY!!

4-SPEED/FACTORY A/C!!

The 1968 Chevy Corvette marks the first year of the C3 generation. The longest running generation Vette out of all generations. The C3 generation was ahead of its time and it took other car makers almost 15 years to start mimicking the style and sleekness of the “Mako Shark” design of this generation Corvette. From 1968 - 1972 will be the last 4 years you will see this much chrome on Corvettes. Owning a Corvette enables you a lifetime free membership to an unspoken club that exist in America today. It links you to other Corvette owners immediately sharing friendly waves, a flicker of headlights and high beams when in passing. It also enables you to park next to each other far out in mall or supermarket parking lots so no one scratches or dings the car. And lastly, you have already been introduced to one another and immediately start talking about your Vettes to each other which will lead to friendships down the line. No other car in America has the unity as the Vette does. Now that’s what American culture is all about.

Exterior:

The exterior of this vehicle is absolute show ready showing less than 100 miles since complete restoration. The body of the vehicle has only 18k original miles on it. Although that is hard to prove, the title documents the miles. There may not be a straighter 68 Corvette then this one. Over 100 hours were invested into making sure the body is straight and body lines match up. The base clear paint has an extra shot of metallic in it so when the sun hits it, it just explodes. All new weather stripping including T-Tops. Also new chrome emblems, new chrome rack on rear and new chrome letters. This Vette is truly ready for show. Also, it has the functional side pipes and vintage style aftermarket wheels, that reminds of when you were a kid and wanted cool rims on your car. Bumpers are original to the car and chrome still shines excellent. Also the headlights and wipers work properly. Over $3500 invested in rebuilding the vacuum system of the car. Over $10k was spend on the body and paint and an extra $3k for chrome and weather stripping. The doors even have new felts. Please review the pictures and let us know of any questions you may have.

Interior:

Just like the exterior, the interior has also been completely restored. The dash and gauges have all been replaced except for the original speedometer. The gauge cluster in the middle has been replaced. The dash and door panels are also new. There has been a new carpet installed along with 3 new boxes and doors in the rear interior compartment. The seats have been done exactly how you would have done in the 70’s when the original material started dry rotting. A brand new console also replaced the old one. This Vette is ready for show. This car is ready for show or go. Even the radio is new. There is nothing that needs to be done to this vehicle.

Drive-Train:

The original drivetrain has been removed. In its place is a 383 Stroker that produces over 500 horse. More horse than even the factory big blocks. You can literally roast the rear tires off the back when you hit the gas. The engine has been blueprinted and balanced and has only about 1000 miles on it. The crank is Umbilical steel with a 4 bolt main. The intake is Edelbrock high rpm aluminum intake along with a Holley 750 cfm carburetor. High volume oil pump was added for better flow. RPM 2+2 heads are also on the engine. The transmission is the M21 Muncie with a 4speed and a ram clutch. Married to a posi rear with 3:73 rear. The cooling system runs all day between 180-190 degrees. Air condition is all hooked up with the exception of one of the lines. Power steering was also added to the car. So A/C does not work right now, needs completing. Again, this vehicle is ready for show or go. Request video by sending us your phone number. You’ll get the link immediately.
